What are you doing for your decorations?

For those who are doing everything themselves: what are you diy-ing and what are you buying as decorations for your wedding ceremony and reception?

I’m doing all my flowers out of woods flowers. So all the centerpieces and decor around our ceremony/ reception with flowers I’ll be making. Any decor I’ve bought so far is from Amazon, michaels, hobby lobby and target. I’ll be purchasing a few things off etsy as well but my bouquet I will be ordering off etsy and not making myself

I purchased lanterns on sale at Bed Bath and Beyond for the ceremony. They are really pretty and I'll use them in my backyard after the wedding is over. I also purchased chiffon chair sashes from tableclothfactory.com to use on shepherd hooks with the lanterns down the aisle. I bought a big pretty picture frame from a thrift store and had a friend cut out vinyl lettering for our welcome sign.
For the reception, my florist is setting up simple bud vases on the tables and I'm just adding votives and tea light LED candles. I bought green velvet table runners for the cake and welcome tables.

I thought I'd want to DIY more, but as time has gone on, and with my job being in healthcare through a pandemic, I have not had time or energy, so I've ended up just purchasing/hiring a lot more than I thought I would. BUT I am making a lot of our paper products, details cards, rsvp cards, a fun little "program" of sorts (it looks like a newspaper - has a thank you note and one of our engagement pics for the headline article, schedule for the weekend/timeline for the day of, wedding party names, a couple games/get to know the couple, and a map highlighting all the states are guests are from) for the hotel welcome bags, table numbers, all signage, I am DIYing the sweetheart table decor but all the other floral/decor is coming from vendors.

I’m a nurse also during this pandemic. And going to school. Which I might end up dropping. I’m not much of a DIYer, but I love the concept of it and it saves money! I’m doing the decorating myself because it saves money. But I’m figuring out what I want to buy or make at the moment. I don’t want to spend too much money. My ‘Save The Dates’ were texted/emailed. Planning on doing an online RSVP. Your project seems fun! Newspaper themed with games! I would love to have floral decorator for my wedding! Seems costly too. But I’m going to check out a florist/nursery next week.

We found a small town (local to our venue though) florist who was VERY reasonable in prices. For four large arrangements at the ceremony, six bridesmaids bouquets, my bridal bouquet, 12 boutonnieres, 5 corsages, 25 centerpieces and flower girl petals, we're spending around $2000. When I priced out the cost of fake florals to DIY plus the amount of time it would take me, it was VERY worth the price IMO. But I could never afford much more than that.

I looked into diying centerpieces, but it seems to be too many things to have to transport to the venue. I’m making hotel welcome bags for guests staying over.
I bought 2 stands from FB marketplace for the ceremony. Floral centerpieces will sit atop each stand and be repurposed to the reception.
I found tulle sashes on Etsy to hang on chairs for the ceremony. What are you doing for your decorations? 1

Hi ! We did order the flowers, so our centerpieces and a bouquet for the church. The rest, we did it ourselves - menus, table numbers, seating chart, napkin rings, ceremony booklets, bags for kids (including coloring books I made myself), box for envelopes, etc.

We DIYed our "Wish you were here" picture board.

We purchased a poster board from Staples and printed out pictures from CVS and we stuck them on the board. It was very simple.
