What are people paying for Djs?

Katie, on May 20, 2019 at 12:37 AM Posted in Planning 0 17

I am seeing a huge price range for DJs and was wondering what is an average price or what you guys are paying? Thanks in advance! *edit* I live in Minnesota

I paid 1700 for my Dj for our reception only. I'm from Northern California. He included the photobooth though in that price. (3 hours)

I'm getting married in Minneapolis, MN. Our DJ is $700, ceremony and lighting included. All other quotes I got were around or a bit above $1000!

Boy do I live in the wrong part of the country. Most DJs here (central NJ) run around $2k-$3k. We found one for $1500. This is for ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception (5.5 hours).

Ours is $850 for 7 hours plus up-lighting. This includes two different set ups (for the reception room and cocktail space). I'm in Tampa, FL. But we got a law enforcement discount so it normally would have been around 1k.

In Upstate NY we are paying $1800. This is for unlimited time, music for ceremony cocktail hour and reception, uplighting, monogram, and him being our MC for the night.

We used Complete Events (They have a MN location...our friends in MN used them too) and it was $800 for 5 hours. There is a discount if you book multiple things through them (uplighting, DJ, photo booth, photography, videography).

I'm in No. California (SF Bay Area), and we are paying $2500, for DJ for ceremony and reception (7 hours), uplighting and photo booth. It's a good price for the area.

I may be throwing off the average here but we're paying a musician/tech friend $500.

Ours were about $1500 (and up) depending on what lighting you wanted. Many of them do include photo booths as part of their packages though.
