were/are you chasing down guests for RSVP

I'm going to if I have to! RSVP's will be returned directly to me... so I know exactly who to harass after April 26th (our deadline).

DH had to chase down a few of his friends.

Don't start bothering people until after your RSVP date though.

I just know I'm going to have to hunt some people down for their RSVP! That's just the way things go. I think with the digital age people don't have much of a sense of emergency anymore when it comes to formal invitations.

I'm sure that I will be. However. They've got a week past then and then I'm moving on. I am the second wedding in the family next year and I seriously suspect the guests will dwindle...because the other ones are on cruises.

Once you check the mail on the RSVP date, you are allowed to start harassing your guests. We had a handful we had to track down. No need to confirm anything with guests once you get their RSVP, unless something was unclear. (Like one of my guests RSVPed for 5 people, and I was like ummm who the hell is he bringing to my wedding?!?. Then you can call and straighten things out)

Definitely had to chase a bunch of people. Only 1/2 responded by RSVP deadline. Wedding is 2 weeks away and we are still chasing a few. Heck one of the GM declined not too long ago.

I started hunting people down the week before our RSVP deadline.

I purposely set my RSVP date a month before the actual wedding date for chasers. That way on April 4, I am contacting everyone who didn't RSVP they have until X date to respond or I won't be able to accomodate them.

Don't contact them now. Give them until the day of then start picking up the phone if necessary.

i started asking around in the family the week of the deadline with reminder messages on FB and email about the date. I don't have too many left since my date has passed, like less than 10, so I will be re-confirming after the holidays.

To the ones who are asking "Why worry?" etc..

Hey, it takes all of TWO SECONDS to take an envelope that's already addressed and stamped, and put it into a DARN mailbox.

I'm the kind of person who says, "Why put it off if I can get it done now, and not worry about it ever again?"

No worries, Lynnie, I get you. Wait until after that deadline.. before you start hunting some rude people down. Our deadline is one week before we really need it for this EXACT reason.

Yes i didnt plan on contacting anybody until after the rsvp date of course, But i was just curious if anybody else had to chase ppl down lol.

I worry because im a worry wart an the type to get stuff done so its not all last min! thanks guys!

We gave people until Jan 4 to RSVP. They are sllloooowly trickling in...I'm hoping the number picks up soon!

My RSVP deadline is this Friday and we still have about 1/4 of the RSVPs still out there. I did a friendly reminder on FB this morning that the date was approaching but I won't start to really hunt anyone down until next week.
