Well an interesting morning

So this morning I put my engagement ring on when I woke up like normal. I never really have problems with finger swelling. After taking my dog out I realized my ring finger was really swollen. After taking ibuprofen and doing every home remedy in the book, we went to the ER because the walk in was packed. And my finger was turning purple by then. They had to cut off my ring. It was an awful experience and now my ring needs to be fixed. I'm so sad right now. But my FH keeps saying at least you didnt lose your finger which is supposed to make me feel better but doesn't.

Yeah I'm ok the swelling has gone down significantly since this morning. I have been icing it just need to get my ring fixed now

I am glad your hand is better now though and I’m sorry your ring got cut but I’m glad it wasn’t anything damaging to your hand

Me too. It's finally starting to look normal now. It just bugs me that they have no idea what caused it. They thought allergic reaction but then realized that made no sense considering I have had my ring for over a year.

Update: so the jeweler told us it looks the rhodium on my ring which is basically a hypo-allergenic on my ring was wearing off. This is completely natural with time. But they think i was allergic to what was under the rhodium so for a fix what they are going to do is double dip my ring in rhodium and because the insurance policy with my ring it will be free. Every 6 months I get my ring cleaned to keep my insurance going on it. So when I go in at the 6 month mark from now on they will just keep my ring and dip in the rhodium again to insure the allergic reaction doesn't happen again. Side note: I truly do believe this is correct because I have noticed that when I wear jeans where the button sits my skin gets irritated, red and itching. And apparently this is caused by being allergic to some types of metal. I honestly thought my jeans just fit me weird/ tight. it all makes more sense now that I am considering all the factors. So now let's add to my long list of allergies sensitivity to metal!
