Welcome sign

Merline, on November 13, 2019 at 3:40 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 16
This may be a weird question, but I'm wondering if I made a mistake! I just ordered our welcome sign. It says "welcome to the wedding of FH name & my name" and not "welcome to our wedding FH name & my name". FH and I was talking because the sign says "welcome to the wedding of", it seems like someone is paying for the wedding. Should I order another sign or are we overthinking it? Since we are paying for everything. TIA 💜

"to the wedding of" sounds way more correct to me than the other way. Nothing about either phrasing would have me thinking about who is paying for it

The way you have it is grammatically correct. The other way would just sounds weird in my opinion. I don’t think anyone would have any thoughts about who’s paying for what...

I think you’re overthinking it. Who’s paying for what didn’t even cross my mind and I don’t think your guests will think about that either - they’ll be too focused on how wonderful the wedding will be, how beautiful you’ll look, and what a great time they’ll have.

I think if you want to include your names, that wording is perfect! The only way I could see “Welcome to our wedding” being correct is if you added no names.

I agree you’re overthinking it! Welcome sings are usually overlooked my most guest.

Definitely overthinking it. You are grammatically correct anyway but nobody will pay attention.

You are absolutely overthinking it!! There's nothing wrong with that sign. I wouldn't think someone else was paying for the wedding if I saw that sign. It's just a more formal way to welcome guests.
