Welcome sign - ceremony or reception?

Kelsi, on May 20, 2019 at 7:09 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 8
Where are welcome signs normally placed? So my ceremony is in a garden , and reception area is in the main building . I was thinking the ceremony , but have heard some mixed reviews . Does it really matter where it’s placed?

Both if you have a wedding DOC who can move it from the ceremony to the reception venue. That's what I did. If not, then it is a matter of personal preference. Here are pics of my sign at the church (it was Christmas weekend so the hay bale was from their nativity scene) and then later at my reception venue.

    Does it matter?? No

But if the ceremony in the garden is the first place where your guests will enter, then that’s where I would “welcome” them.

Hey Kelsi! There really isn’t a correct answer for this, it’s entirely the personal preference of you and your FS. Of course, it would be possible to move it after your ceremony to your reception area. This might be a nice touch.

I think it would look beautiful at your ceremony since it’s outside, you could also get some great photos of it with the ceremony set up behind it.

Have you thought about the design of your sign yet?

Thank you for your input ! I think I’m going to go with my gut and put it at the ceremony . I keep second guessing myself through this planning process . Anyway ! Yes I’ve found custom decals on Etsy that I love ! I will put on a chalkboard easel with some nice flowers/greenery around it.

You can do both! If you don't have a wedding coordinator you can just assign maybe a groomsmen or father or someone to move it! We are going to move some things from the ceremony to the reception area.

I would put either where the ceremony is located.
