Welcome Newsletter?!?

Cassi, on July 3, 2019 at 3:57 PM Posted in Planning 0 11

I have only seen this posted once and its definitely a know your crowd but I am curious if anyone has done it and if so what all did they include?

We are staying in a resort that rents cabins. FH and I rented one for us and our wedding party, my side of the family has rented 3 cabins and FH side has rented 1 larger one as well so I thought it would be cool to do a welcome newsletter. We are getting married in Gatlinburg TN and what we are thinking is bring the newsletters to check in and have them disperse them in the cabins our family has rented with coupons and tickets to attractions in the city (this is something they normally do as is we would just have them add the newsletter). The newsletter pretty much just starts as a thank you and insight into the town and why we chose it. The second page we did a wedding day timeline and important transportation information, the third page introduces our parents and our weddign party, the 4th page is a map of the cabin complex so everyone can see where everyone is staying and a map of cabins to venue for those not using transportation we provide, 5th page is some of our favorite attractions in the town ( most people are coming in Thursday and Friday and we get married Sunday and are staying until Tuesday or Wednesday). We separated it into categories of family fun, outdoors, 21+ and a foodies section. We also have a couples crossword just for fun and we did a newly wed game section (which are the questions that will be asked during reception). I'm super excited but don't know if theres other things I should consider adding.

Any and all advice is welcome! Smiley smile Happy planning y'all.

I ordered welcome pamphlets to go in our welcome bags at our blocked hotel! They have a little "welcome" from us, some local restaurants, things to do, how to use the local Denver transport system, and the bus schedule!

Love, Love, LOVE this idea! I need to find a template to download so I can do one.

We we live in VA & are doing our wedding in upstate NY. Not only do a lot of his family & mine live in the area, but it was also the sight of our first date- thus the beginning of our love story!

Were doing "Welcome" bags that are "Garry Potter" themed for most everyone, that also have snacks/drinks, meds and little cute things. Would love to include the newsletter!

This is my first rough draft. I printed it so FH could look at it (I do most of my planning at work). Lol some spelling errors and things we want to switch up and add but it's been fun. It will also be in full color when I actually do it. This was in word but I plan on making it in indesign.

Ohhhhhhh even cuter than I had thought!!!! Wow! Love it!

Is it going to to be on regular paper or newsprint? Either way cool.

Wanna do do mine lol! Seriously tho, is there a template you used? Microsoft Word or something?

I love that! We’re thinking of doing something similar for our guests! My cousins wedding was at a big casino complex and she provided a map on her welcome letter which was so helpful!

Were not sure paper type yet we were thinking maybe a cardstock that looks rustic. I just started designing my own no template. I was bored at work and just started working on it. When I do it on indesign that will be way better. I'm certified in most Adobe products so it should look way more newslettery lol
