Welcome letters at hotel?

Brittany, on August 13, 2019 at 5:00 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5

All of our guests will be staying in hotels (with the exception of maybe 5 people). We are not doing welcome bags as we did not factor it into our budget, and all information that would be included in a welcome letter is listed on our wedding website. If we printed on decent paper it would probably cost another 100 bucks- feels like another added stationary expense on top of what we've already spent!

Our 2 hotels are also 30 min apart from one another (in opposite directions from our venue), so to be fair to all guests we would have to drive all around to drop the welcome off at each hotel.

What are your thoughts? Did you add some sort of welcome? I went to a wedding last weekend and the letter just repeated everything online, and some people didn't even open it. However it was nice to easily access the info again.

Any advice is appreciated!

I think the thought of it is very nice, even if not everyone reads it. And it lets everyone have the information right in front of them, without having to look it up online. If people are making the effort to travel to your wedding, it seems reasonable to me to drive to both hotels to give them to your guests. If nothing else, ask a bridesmaid or family member who is staying at either one to help out.

Where are you printing? 100$ seems excessive

Online print shops ~ $1 per print (would need 90-100)

You can print them yourself very cheaply. We did our own.

Is this per person or per household? You would only need to print per household/couple staying in the room. Also, you can buy quality paper and print them yourself.

I had itineraries made on Etsy and included them with the welcome boxes I left in the guests' rooms. This is a nice touch, but not necessary.
