Weird question - Bride place card

Hannah, on September 21, 2014 at 9:25 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 12

I'm in the process of drafting my place cards for my upcoming wedding (It's next saturday- AHHHHHHHHHHHH!) and I have hit a strange speed bump - my own. Do I put my maiden name or my married name? Obviously by the time dinner rolls around, I will be a married woman. Then again, no one else will see it. What do you all think? Thanks for the input

GOOD LUCK WITH ALL OF YOUR PLANNING AND FUTURE WEDDINGS! Smiley smile

Your married name! It's most likely the first time you'll see it printed after the ceremony. So exciting!

Married name for sure! Who cares if you are officially your married name yet. That is all legal stuff. It will make your husband so happy. I did mine like this and sent to FH to print and he was like "I especially liked that last one!!!"

I'm not making a name card for myself or my FH. If I were though, I would definitely use my married name!

The technicalities are so frustrating! Thanks guys! Bringing the FH into this, definitely made the decision easier. Still grasping that I'll have to change my name on everything lol; but you're right - It will definitely make him happy, as well as me! Smiley smile

Married name! I ordered our toasting flutes with married name, and also a trinket jewelry box with my new last name from Things Remembered. ( it was by 3 get 4th free!), A little anxiety to see it in writing I must say.

I probably wouldn't do place cards for you and the groom since you know where you will be sitting.

Its weird how we are doing things. I didn't want a seating plan because I hate the idea of telling people where to sit, but I'm not doing a buffet either. So i have two different color place cards to signify chicken or steak so the servers know what each person is eating and they can't change their mind at the last minute.

My toasting flute will have my married name. My opinion on this issue, might as well get used to seeing it.
