Weird, or no?

Hi everyone!

I have most of my major vendors booked now. Which is great! However, one thing we're having to work through is our decor planner. We don't really need a coordinator. But we would benefit from having a decorator. I asked one of my aunt's sisters (since she is an event planner/takes care of decor for events). I was able to talk with her and discuss about my vision of how we want the venue to be decorated. Simple but elegant. I told her my budget, and she told me the price. No problem. She also told me how payment scheduling is going to go, etc. However, fiance and I want an actual, you know, invoice or something similar that actually breaks down the price of all the things we require. We know what we want. She knows what we want. But we want to know HOW does it come to the price that it does. I emailed her 5 days ago. 5. Asking her if she can please prepare an invoice. That I want to move forward with booking, but we need the physical invoice to look over things before we commit. That's fair, isn't it? She's not emailed me. She's extremely active on social media, more notably Instagram and I can see that she is online many hours of the day. I even sent her texts to her phone letting her know I've sent her emails and ... nothing! At this point, we're just thinking about having some trusted fam and friends come out the day before the wedding and help us decorate the venue ourselves... because as this point I feel just so annoyed! What do you guys think?

I think you’re being reasonable wanting a breakdown of cost. I would also want some type of contract so there aren’t any problems. Family or not that can sometimes be a problem.

I don't think that's weird to want a detailed cost breakdown. If that's too much for her to handle, unfortunately I'd start looking for another decor planner

I would hire a professional coordinator, this is essentially what a day of planner does. This should not be a hard task for her to follow through on. If she can’t do this small ask, it makes me question her ability to do the actual job.
