Any other brides here wanting to lose weight before they get married? How long are you giving yourself to lose the weight? What's your goal? What made you decide you wanted to lose weight? Do you have any tips? Words of encouragement?

I usually tell people to find something they enjoy doing in terms of exercise

Weight loss is 90% what you put on your fork. I’d recommend using an app like MyFitnessPal to track your eating. Be very honest about your food. After you’ve tracked for a week, you can see the areas where you can make changes. Try to do lots of protein and healthy carbs (carbs are not bad! Your body needs them to function. Just make the complex carb choices (fruits, veggies, etc) versus the refined carb choices (sugars, breads, etc.)). Make sure whatever you do is sustainable...weight loss should be done for a lifestyle change and not just for the wedding (though the wedding is helpful motivation!).

I started on my weight loss journey a year ago and I’ve lost about 45 pounds on weight watchers. I still have more to go but my wedding is in 89 days. First fitting is coming up so you need to factor that in too.

I am currently being really strict on dieting right now because I struggle with my weight and granted. I am not as big as I used to be in high school and college but at the same time I've also been much skinnier. I refuse to look back on my wedding day pictures and feel like I look chubby or fat. My biggest thing is I have a little bit of upper back fat so I have been working and doing more. Weight lifting to tone up everywhere all over my body. Also, I mostly follow a low-carb diet, but for right now, I'm kind of following a sugar detox which has been very helpful and me limiting eating a lot of facts as well as eating a lot of unnecessary sugars. I'm also trying to cut back on Dairy a little bit. Once I start losing some more weight, I will eventually start incorporating a little bit more carbs things like that, but only on occasion. I strongly suggest you research different types of diet and depending on when your wedding is do you want that you can do logically. What I'm doing is not easy, but it works for me while some diets that others do I know would not work for me.

If you want to lose weight (and have not lost weight successfully before), I highly recommend WW (weight watchers). They give you the structure and support needed to reach your goals. It is important to actually go to meetings for accountability.

How long you need depends on how much you want to lose. Healthy weight loss is between 0.5 and 2lbs per week. So if you want to lose 10lbs, it will take between 5 and 20 weeks.

My goal is between 15 and 20lbs in about 5 months or 20 weeks. I have lost about 10lbs so far in about 7 weeks.

My biggest tip for weight loss, is to plan out your meals for the whole week on Sunday. I also highly encourage doing some meal prep on the weekend to make it easier for you during the week.

Weight loss is mostly food. Exercise will only get you so far. If you want to add some in, great, but know that isn't the focus.

I realize I didn’t answer the other questions on your post. In 2015, I made the decision to get healthier as I was very unhappy with the way my body looked and felt. I hired a personal trainer, followed a very strict change in eating, and worked out 4-5 times a week. It took 2 years, but in that time I lost 46 pounds. Right around the end of that journey, I met my FH. As with most new relationships, we ate out a lot, so I became less rigid with my eating (which I’ve decided is what I want, now; I don’t have the desire to be as strict as I once was, and that’s okay) and less disciplined with the gym. I currently have about 15 pounds I’d like to see gone to put me in a place where I would be 100% happy (my lowest weight just isn’t sustainable for my frame without tremendous sacrifice). I’m hoping to see it gone by the time the wedding comes in July (or even better, May, for my boudoir pictures, but I’m trying to be realistic).

So I have a bit until my wedding (October 2021), but my goal is to lose 50 lbs. Right now, I'm tracking my calories and going to the gym 3 times a week. I absolutely love zumba! So I'm doing that at the moment. Then after some time, I'll start incorporating weight training. For me, I just want to feel the happiest and healthiest on my wedding day -- plus I need to lose weight for health anyways. I have gained a bit a weight since FH and I started dating over 5 years ago, so it's time to lose it!

For advice, find exercise that you love! Whether that be classes, walking, whatever. Doing something fun will keep you motivated. Also, if you need to lose a bit, track your calories. This really helps me and when I know I only have a certain amount I can eat a day really makes me choose the better choice. Also - LOTS of water!

I need to lose 50-60 pounds and I've already lost 17 pounds. Still have a ways to go for my wedding in 2021. I've been going to the gym and fasting. Also watching out what I'm putting into my mouth! It's been a journey.

I lost 15 lbs in 6 months. I gained some muscle too, I just wanted to be healthier. I cut out soda, coffee creamer, and all desserts. I started drinking basically just water and eating healthier. I walked 3+ miles on the weekend, took HIIT classes during the week and did at home workouts with the Tone It Up app.

I've been on a weightloss journey for quite a long time. I follow macros and eat in a caloric deficit. Check out macrostax. They give you macros/calories. You can use the recipe button and it will build meals that fit your macros. I've used that in addition plus a nutrition coach to reign in my compliance. I've been super focused for the last 6 months, watching what goes in my pie hole. I'm down 23 lbs from my high of 205. Get your steps up, eat in a caloric deficit consistently and you can change your body. My coach is from POP. Personality optimization performance I think is how the wordings go. Check out mike milner. Best investment I've made.

I made the mistake of telling myself "you've got time" and with 5 months left realized my dress didn't zip and I needed to lose 20-25 pounds. I was super overwhelmed, but my mom turned me onto the Lose It app and it's great. I was able to input my current information, my goal weight, and how many pounds I want to lose per week. Right now I'm projected to hit my goal weight July 10th. Counting calories is the way to go and I'm still able to have a glass of wine every night (sometimes 2, depends on the day)
