Hi Guys! My wedding is next spring so I have some time, but not a lot. I'm looking to lose about 30+lbs. Did you guys have anything that's worked for you? Anything would help. TIA!

Awesome! Congrats Smiley smile I'll have to use that app more. I just forgot to update things on it. I think I'll have to get into the habit of using it.

Download MyFitnessPal! I love using it. I never realized how many macros I actually should be eating in a day. It really helps create healthier habits. I also love going to workout classes- I feel that I work out so much harder than I would have by myself.

I'm working on losing about 30+ as well for my wedding in June 2020! I lost 45 in 2017 (and of course gained it all back after getting comfortable with my man lol) but I highly recommend pushing yourself to workout as much as you can! When I lost the first 45 it was all workouts and cutting out little things like fast food all the time (at least 10 of my 45 was JUST from me cutting out the Dr. Pepper I was drinking every day!). Even walking daily has gotten my weight down a lot since I have an office job and I don't do anything active throughout my work day. I highly recommend getting an "accountability" or workout buddy as well, that way it doesn't suck so much if you hate working out. My #1 tip though is not to weigh yourself like crazy either. If you weigh yourself too often, you'll find yourself disappointed and more discouraged if you happen to see that you haven't lost as much as you wanted to in the amount of time that you hoped to. Decide what you're doing right/wrong based on what you see in the mirror, not on the scale! It's a process, but it's very rewarding Smiley smile

I've lost 12 lbs and my fiance has lost 17 lbs. Both of us cut out coffee creamer, soda & desserts and started taking our lunch everyday (healthy lunches). He goes to the gym and lifts 2x a week and bikes 10+ miles on a stationary bike 3x a week. I do HIIT classes twice a week, and do TIU app workouts the other three times a week. We walk 3+ miles per weekend with our dog.

I walk constantly. I don't drive, so I walk to the store, walk to the pharmacy. I used to be 318 pounds a few years ago, lost some on my own, then had weight loss surgery, lost over 100 but have gained back some so i've been hitting the gym 3 days a week, but mostly just walking. I'm losing inches more than pounds which is what i'm going for. I've been eating again the way I should have been eating all along after my surgery before I allowed bad habits to creep back in.

Myfitnesspal or fitbit are good for tracking! It's mostly about figuring out how many calories are in certain foods you love and eating less of it at a time to work on the moderation. It takes time to figure it all out Smiley smile

I use Lifesum. It’s an app that lets you can the barcode of ingredients to find the amount of calories that you’ve eaten. It’s also tracks calories you’ve eaten along with calories you’ve burned. It’s free but has in app purchases. I use the free version.

I cut most sugars, soda, energy drinks out of my diet. I try to drink as much water as possible, protein shakes, or smoothies. I have a set workout with weight resistant bands and my elliptical every day. I prep my lunches for the week ahead of time. I try to incorporate chicken, fish, shrimp, veggies and good carbs in them with having a normal dinner. It's been working extremely well and keeping my body balanced.

I'm getting married in February 2020 and have about 70# to lose. I refuse to be a fat bride again. I want to feel as beautiful on my wedding day as my FH tells me every day that I am.

Anyone interested in an accountability buddy? Someone willing to check in (can do email or offline here so we don't clutter up a board, or we could start another), share tips and tricks, and just provide that support as we all tackle this similar challenge? I could use someone to kick me in the tush when I'm slacking, and bet I'm not the only one!

One of my tricks has been to add a fruit or veggie before any meal or snack. For example, eat a bananas before your omelet. Or a salad before your sandwich. Even an apple before you cookies! It helps curb your appetite and is healthy! It also doesn't limit what you can eat. Restricting food causing cravings! Also carbs are not all bad! Carbs in fruits, veggies, and whole grains are needed for a healthy diet!!!
