My fiancee just popped the question. We have already started talking about wedding dates for this fall, on a date that's special to us. One problem is that it's a Wednesday. It's fine for us and most immediate family members, but not for some others. I understand most people work during the week and might not be able to make it. Is anyone having a weekday wedding, or is this not really a "thing"?

Heather, no. When you invite guests to celebrate, yes, you have to accommodate them. The ceremony is for you, the party is to thank your guests for coming.

Princess Consuela I think you misunderstood what I was saying. By accommodate, I meant don't change your date if that's when you want it.

Ah, yeah, I was going to say that that isn't really the issue here I suppose, but I got lazy and just submitted the comment the way it was, hah. Sorry!

My destination weddings frequently happen during the week. It doesn't matter to the guests since they're usually here for the whole week. Maybe you could do a destination wedding, Veronica, and have your closest relatives and friends attend.
