Weddingmix Questions

Kayla, on July 5, 2020 at 5:38 PM Posted in Planning 0 6

I decided to get WeddingMix. We don't have it in our budget to hire a Videographer, and I really like the idea of seeing wedding clips from the guest perspective. For those of you that don't know, WeddingMIx is an app where guests can upload video clips (and photos), then the company will edit them together to make a wedding video. For those that used it, did you put any information about the app on your website? If so, what did you say? Did you put any signs up at your reception? Were people generally willing to download the app? I'm seeing some posts on here about people who think it's rude to ask guests to do this, or that it's too much work. To clarify, we do have a photographer. I just figure people will be taking clips anyway, so it's not really a big deal to have them share in a central location. I'm also not asking anyone to film the ceremony or do anything specific. What is the best way to communicate this to my guests?

I did not use this, but I used The Guest app. It’s a photo sharing app.
I put it on our website and on the Insert in the invitations. I also used it at my bridal shower. Then on each table and the bar I put little table tents with the Information. I had about 10 people use it and most of them signed up at the reception.

Oh also, we didn’t have the budget for a videographer. I set up my digital camera on a tripod at the start of the isle and it was my brothers job to turn it on Before we started and off when we were done.
He also got our first dance, parent dances, and speeches. Just an idea.

Im Using Wedding Mix Also. I Have Made Little Tags That Have All The Information. I Think Ill Attach Them To The Programs Or Place Them On The Ceremony Seats Im Not Sure Yet. Ill Also Add It To My Wedding Website. I Dont Think It's Rude At All To Ask Them To Download An App, It Literally Takes Like 1 Minute Lol.

I just came across the weddingmix site and then came straight to THIS site to see if anyone else used it! lol It sounds like a super cool alternative to a videographer. Who said it was rude? Was it older people? Overly traditional? I don't know, you have to know your crowd but I'm positive the bulk of my crowd is going to be down for this. It's only 50 guests tho lol

I'm glad you posted this. I didn't get as far as thinking about how we would tell people. I think I like the ideas of putting signs on the ceremony seats and table tents at each table.
