My fiancé feels like Photographers are too expensive (we are paying for our wedding ourselves) I recently got in touch with a photographer and her prices are $575 for beginning of the wedding thru the reception with 4 specialty pictures and charging $12 per picture for the rest. I told him that her price was $575 and he automatically shut it down, saying that’s too expensive. Can it get any cheaper or will we have to settle without a photographer?

I really wouldn't have a wedding without a photographer. I feel like photography is one of the most important things to budget for. After all of the work and stress and money you put into your wedding day you will want to remember it! You will want to capture the special moments.

I'm not even a huge picture taker and we have practically no photos framed in our home but the wedding pictures were really important to us. I would regret not having gotten them.

Please don’t skip the photographer. There are plenty of options to stay within a budget. There are all kinds of artistic photographers building their portfolios and can shoot your wedding for less than $1000 just make sure you view their existing work and I’d invest in a bridal shoot just to make sure you do like their style.

Personally, I was willing to spend more on photography than anything else in the wedding. Those pictures you will have forever. FORRREVER! Don’t have a lifetime of regret and then resentment because you don’t have wedding pictures.

I couldnt afford a super pricey photographer either, sooooo I turned to craigslist! Not even joking! I found a gal advertising free 1 hour photo shoots to help build her portfolio. We did the one hour free shoot for our engagement photos.....and we couldnt have been happier with the images we received! They were beautiful! I loved the photog so much we booked her for our wedding as well. We are eloping, so we only need 3 hours of coverage. (ceremony, photos after the ceremony) and it cost a whopping $150. Our photog sends tons of photos. It may sound almost scammy.....but definitely browse craigslist in your area! (or the area where you will be getting married). Check under 'community' and under 'services: creative'.

You're not going to find even a decent photographer that will shoot for $100 lol. These people are professionals and have bills to pay just like you. Professionals cost money. You want nice pictures? You've gotta be willing to pay for it. Doesn't your DH want pictures of your special day?
