Wedding Wire Has No Extravagant Brides with Luxurious Weddings like the ones on Youtube?

I'm surprised to be unable to find lavish weddings on this site. I'm surprised to be unable to find lavish weddings on this site. Most/all weddings on here are budget friendly weddings (not to say they're bad- just not my style) and not at all like the ones I'm interested in. Where are the big ballrooms with drapings, huge white dance floor, and lavish dresses and the glamorous weddings?

I've seen someone say they spent $60k and someone else $100k but their weddings were nothing like what I envisioned and wondered where they spent most of the money because it was just hosted in a barn with not intense decor........ it didn't have that many flowers, the dress wasn't huge or glamourous, so.... the alcohol maybe?

Not only that, but where are the African Brides? Most of the time, they have the elegant huge weddings. I wish I could see advice from those types of brides as it is my style. Any of you guys out there on this website???

When I search for lavish things, I see LAVISH HONEYMOONS....... like what.... what about the wedding lol

That's sooooo true! SO true. With all those factors accounted, it makes very sense that it would be really expensive. Then if they added on the super luxe look, then it would cost even more maybe nearing $200k

You're right. It can be expensive. Depending on guest count, location, time of the year, it can have an effect on the price, things being labeled "wedding". Ballrooms and huge halls generally can be more expensive than barns though, considering you attach the "wedding" label as you've mentioned.

The reason why I referred to the barn venue specifically is because when I've seen lots of brides on here post budget-friendly posts, they were attached to barn weddings, instead of lavish ballrooms, so I got the impression that people were choosing the barn because it was more budget-friendly. When you see lots of people comment "yeah I'm trying to have a budget friendly wedding so my FH and I decided to have our wedding in a beautiful barn" that's what I'm referring to.

But I do understand that, depending on location, and other factors, it can be just as expensive. So, thank you for your reply.

Very very very true! Other factors do rack up the prices a lot!

That's shocking to be honest, cause the places I'm looking at are in Southern California and I have seen way more lower prices for the venues/catering I'm looking for, than $200/$300 per person. Dang. But I get you for sure.

Thank you! I am looking at Los Angeles, California. The vendors I'm most interested in are black-owned (if possible) luxe decor vendors, and NICE makeup/hair stylists (that have lots of experience with black clients), DJ's with nice/plethora packages, (First priority: is closeness to the location, second priority: I actually don't mind if these vendors have to travel- their services is what matters most to me- if it's amazing, then for sure). Thank you again!

    ------------------------------------------------------UPDATE-----------------------------------------------------------

! THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR RESPONSES !

    1) I am now aware of the factors that can shoot up the costs for weddings! WHETHER a wedding is 60k or 100k, IT SOLELY depends on the factors unique to the wedding. Barn or not, any venue can be expensive with the factors.

    2) I am still open to HELP and LINKS/SITES/INSTAGRAMS of LUXE WEDDINGS (HIGHLY PREFERABLY BLACK OWNED BUSINESSES) when it comes to DECOR services, DJ Services with (Lights+equipment+plus even more services), and MAKEUP/HAIR STYLIST services that travel or are in the LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA AREA.

    3) FOR MY PROFILE, IT DOES SAY 4 YEARS AWAY, but THAT'S ON THE TABLE. SEEING HOW WITH SCHOOL/CORONAVIRUS ENDS UP TURNING OUT. I WANT IT TO BE WAY SOONER AND PLAN IT TO BE, NOT NECESSARILY 4 YEARS AWAY- JUST MEASURING THAT FAR OUT IN CASE.

AGAIN, MUCH LOVE, AND THANK YOU!

Yep. I looked at one for only 100 guests, some setup but no decor, no food, and a little help with parking and taking out trash for $6,000, and this was in a rural county an hour from Durham, NC. I went with the park down the road. Space for 150, don’t have to pay for tables and chairs, only $410 for reception hall and the amphitheater.

That's a great deal. Some places just might as well ask for the sun and moon while they are at it.

Okay gotcha! Let me reach out to some friends and get some vendors for you. My beauty team is actually pretty high end and all talented black artists. And I do also know some high end black owned photographers and bridal designer highly recommended by friends. I didn’t book because they were way off of my budget. Also, I was looking for a simple lace gown and didn’t want anything with too much bling so I decided to go with a Maggie Sottero gown (picture attached). Since my makeup, hair and jewelry will be pretty extravagant, I was looking for a softer understated gown. But if you check out Pantora Bridal, she has very high end blinged out gowns if that is more your taste. I listed the Instagrams for all the high-end black owned vendors I booked or recommended. I’ll try to get some local LA vendors for you as well.

    Hi Sasha,

In my humble opinion, since you are putting so much money into your wedding, I would recommend a 'Day of Wedding Coordinator'. They are significantly cheaper. Then you have the opportunity to truly enjoy your wedding, on your wedding day.

    Hi Karen,

My venue comes with a Day of Coordinator, Maître D and 2 Bridal Attendants, who will be managing all of our vendors arrivals and day of execution from ceremony to reception. My make-up artist will be with me from morning to reception and will be coordinating my getting ready timeline. Photographer/Videographer will be working together to keep us on schedule as well from hotel prep to first look at the venue. My best friend is in charge of distributing day of payments and gratuities. I thought about getting a day of coordinator, but they were offering $6,000 - $7,000 just to come in as a second point of contact. Before we had to postpone, I already had my venue planning meeting with my venue coordinator and discussed my timeline with makeup artist and photographer and it became very clear I was in great hands. Oddly enough, as much as we are paying I don’t have anything out of the ordinary that would warrant a second person just for the month or day of. What would have been helpful was a wedding planner from the start. Lastly, my dj comes with an MC who will be guiding the guests throughout the night with announcements etc. As far as I can tell, I’ve thought through the timeline with multiple vendors and I don’t think I’ll have to do much at all but show up. What I’m worried about are the prep costs I didn’t tally up like clothing budget for all the ore-wedding activités, accommodating my in laws and some of my international guests. I come from a traditional Haitian family where it’s inevitable guests will show up sometimes two to three weeks before expecting to be wined and dined and hosted in my apartment or my family’s home in Long Island. That I have yet to plan for 😫. But luckily with covid we have an extra 14 months to figure it out.

My friend's wedding was 150k in a ballroom, kinda lavish like the one you are explaining. I mean it wasn't the most lavish I've seen or even been to, so those must cost 200k+. But lavish doesn't equal elegant. Her lavish wedding wasn't what I'd deem elegant. I think you can have a very elegant wedding with a budget.

You’re welcome and it’s my pleasure 😌! And thank you so much for saying that!! Sometimes I do suffer from dress regret and need a reminder. Such a strange year for so many people. And having to postpone has broken my heart, but you are absolutely right! God willing it will be a dream. And I can’t wait.... Anyways, thank you again lady!

So I spoke to some of friends, two of which live in San Fran. Turns out they both did not get married in CA, so majority of their vendors were elsewhere. But, one did hire a videographer for her engagement video that was jaw dropping! I believe she’s in Riverside (about an hour away) from LA. Nonetheless, the talent is unreal and the artist is a Black female ❤️!! I’ll leave her insta below. Also, my DJ is bomb and travels as well. He does everything from hip hop, rnb, afrobeats, edm, pop, classics you name it! He travels internationally and hosts events anywhere you need him. Check out his page and the ladies love him, super easy on the eyes Lololol.

Girl, your dress is straight beautiful!! Smiley xd Smiley heart Never forget it, dear! Aw i'm so sorry that you postponed it! I wish it had happened but I guess the only positive thing from it is to have a longer time to refine the details and have it be even more amazing.

Thanks for plugging me with the videographer and DJ, i'll definitely check them out! Much love to youuuu

I was thinking about you when I saw this post. This might be the type of wedding you’re referring to which they said is 65,000 flowers. If it’s $.065 per long stem rose that’s $43,000 wholesale for flowers PLUS designers mark up and their cost to set up, the cost to use their vases etc. so this might actually be close to $100,000 just on flowers 😊
