To all of you couple out there, I would like to advise you not to use this site "Wedding Wire" as a reputable source for vendors. They have agreements with these vendors and thus they are used for tools for advertisemet. I had written an HONEST review about a particular vendor "Got you covered" for my dj services. My experiences with them were not good, however I did not "bad mouth" or say harshful words, I only wrote out all of my experiences. Anyways, that particular DJ has a relationship with Wedding wire, and has disputed our review twice. Wedding wire asked us to provide proof that he had worked with us, so we did. However they claimed that it was too late, and now we cannot write a review for that said vendor. Obviously he doesnt want the bad review, and obviously wedding wire doesnt want to post the review if he doesnt want it up, because he pays them for the advertisement! So if you are looking to this site for a Review source, do NOT use this site, they may not be true.

I am sorry to hear you had a problem with a vendor but at the same time I am just as upset that you are now telling everyone that all vendors on Wedding Wire are bad. Is that fair? There are a lot of good vendors here and not only that but according to the vendor you gave a bad review to you never contacted them that there was a problem. I do not have any contract with wedding wire. I am simply a business looking for exposure and free advertising. This is how I am able to offer the prices I do. Now if wedding wire was as bad as you say... wouldn't they have deleted this post rather than respond to it. After all you are giving them a bad review with this post.

WOW! So sorry you had such a lousy experience. Its sad.

As mentioned in many of these posts NOT ALL VENDORS are bad on wedding Wire, as a matter of fact most are outstanding pros with stellar portfolios and the awards to back them up!

    I am one of them!

I do NOT have any agreement nor do I pay for my spot on Wedding Wire, The statement about BUYING a top pick on The Knot is Pure BS. It is tallied by all the BRIDES and GROOMS on that site, I AM a TOP PICK for 08 & 09 and I dont even advertise with the Knot! LOL So how did that happen- GREAT Service!

I have been in the biz over 25 years, write for a Fabulous website as a special events Expert and I dont make a DIME for the true un biased

articles I post for brides to be.

It is very unfair to shade your judgment of this fine websites services because of a couple bad vendors.

And beleive me all of the hard working folks on this site want nothing more than beautiful weddings for you. BUT Communication is key.

I am sorry that you had to experience one bit of stress. But as other vendors have written; this is free. I and many other vendors are small business and do not have that capital to cover Wedding Wires' premiere spots and truly work off word of mouth.

To all others who have disputes/ disagreements with your vendors I implore to speak up immediately- before your big day or after. No true professional wants to their client to be one bit satisfied. Be clear, be detailed and be honest. If your vendor can not accept your instructions then get another one.

    Also, always ask for references...

Again I am sorry for your "jinx", but I sincerely hope that the finish your product, your wedding to your husband was and continues to be wonderful... From here until Infinity....

    Hello-

I am so sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with this one vendor. As they say, there is always "his side- her side ... and the truth lies somewhere in the middle" We, as vendors, do NOT pay Wedding Wire anything at all- nothing, to receive reviews.

While one vendor may have been a bad apple, that does not mean that the entire site and it's vendors are to be bad mouthed. When chosing a vendor, I would personally review their personal web site and review ALL of the testimonials from previous clients. My band, Deja Blu, has over 75 testimonials from happy clients. They ALL say the same thing- we are a great wedding dance band! I dont pay for these and I will gladly give references. Many brides are more than happy to talk to you about their experiences.

Wedding Wire is a great site and many of the brides I have worked with say glowing things about this site.

I think something that could be of good use is instead of just pulling bad reviews out, just provide the ability for a "vendor response" to the bad review. That way everyone gets to see both sides of a story, instead of people just saying "oh they remove bad reviews".

Mayhemicm-- hunny I feel for you! You come on here to post your feelings and end up getting stalked. With a 3 space rambeling response no less.

I dont believe your went into detail about your issues with your bakery. You simply said there were issues and it made your mom cry. When business owners do that its such a turn off. No one wants to here indepth blow by blows of what alledgedly happened.

    PS

Sorry jinxed for taking over your post. =o(

I'm a vendor on wedding wire who has a free account. Not all vendors have paid to advertise with Wedding Wire. This site is free to use for vendors. You can pay to upgrade your listing. The vendors on the first couple pages of any vendor category are the ones paying for the upgraded "premier" spots. You should not judge all of the vendors on this site just because of one bad apple you got from the tree. I am truly sorry that you had that experience with that vendor. I would not close the door to others though. You are bound to find some people who you can not work with but you will find those you love to work with. Yes comments and reviews should be posted I agree good or bad. But in all reality one person's experience may not be the same as someone else's with that vendor. We all have likes and dislikes. I hope that everyone can see that when you get one bad apple from the tree it doesn't mean they are all bad.

The Wedding Wire is free for vendors to be listed and the brides can freely access reviews. The Better Business Bureau provides no information to brides about a vendor UNLESS the vendor has PAID $300 to be a member. For that reason, I would be more comfortable relying on Wedding Wire than the Better Business Bureau.

I am so sorry to hear about your bad experience with a vendor. I am a vendor with Wedding Wire (useing the free advertising) and I would truly hope that if someone had a problem with my services they would have the option of letting others know about it. I do not have a "relationship" with wedding wire so I would hope that they would post ALL reviews about my business, good or bad.

Good luck to you and yours and I wish you all the best.

Why are vendors allowed to have negative comments removed from the wedding wire website? We had the most horrible experience by an Orlando photographer and they had all their negative comments removed. This is very disappointing to me and customers that will use them in the future and cause the bride and groom aggravation. Can you please explain? Yelp allows honest reviews.
