Do you all think have a wedding website and sending save the dates is too much? How far in advance should we share of wedding website with family and friends?

I shared my wedding website on my save the date. It was a good place for guests to get more information, room blocks, photos, registry info, etc.

Wedding websites are always helpful for guests, especially if you have a large guest list (100+).

I actually put our wedding website URL on our Save the Dates, which we just sent out. Of course there isn't currently anything on our website other than a "Under Construction" image (I blame work and the holidays), but at least our guests will have a resource to refer to--eventually.

I also had our wedding website on our Save the Dates, which I had planned to send out at the 6 month mark (ended up being 4 since we moved our date unexpectedly).

No, because they serve two different purposes… Or at least for us they will. We’re sending our save the dates in January, since were having a Destiination wedding. The save the date will have our wedding website on it. Even though all the website pages won’t be complete in January, there will be placeholder information there asking guest to check back again soon.

Our STD won’t have very much information on it besides the wedding date and city/state. But our wedding website will provide more details about the wedding, weekend activities, hotel info, we’ll share photos and most importantly that’s where guests will RSVP.

As PP mentioned, both of these things serve different purposes. We sent save the dates and provided our wedding website on them.

I don't think so. We had a website, and didn't share it with anyone besides our parents personally but we listed it on the back of the save the dates & our invites!

    1) Save the Dates are helpful for anyone who needs to take time off work, book flights/travel & hotels. It is also nice as a keepsake.

    2) Wedding websites are suuuuuuper easy to do, and can be as good as what you put into them! It can have photos, stories about you guys, quizzes, hotel/B&B info, airport/train and rental car info, baby sitters, etc. It also can be a spot for bridal party to look and see what the agenda is for a wedding weekend, bridal shower, etc.
I sent the “STD”with a hand written message of what our site addy is.

We have a wedding website because 90% of our guest are going to be traveling all from different states. We included our wedding website on our save the dates.

    No?
We had both but honestly not many people even bothered looking at the website. Made me extra glad it was free!
