Anyone else feel really awkward writing in 3rd person on your website? Or writing from only one perspective?

This is such a struggle for me.

Yes it's too weird! I hated writing in third person so I just wrote it in first person from my perspective. I was thinking of having him write one from his perspective too but it would seem repetitive so I didn't. I think forgoing it is also an option!

Yeah the other thing you could do is just show your love story through photos if you don't feel comfortable writing it

My friend did this for her wedding website. Their “story” was two paragraphs- one written by groom and one by the bride each from their first person perspectives . It came off almost as if they were writing little letters to their guests about their SO. For the bridal party section the bride wrote a blurb about each person as well in the first person. I thought the whole thing was very sweet and personal! Also lots of pics were added

We took the story part off of ours. Everyone knows it anyway. For the rest of it, I’ve just been using “we” and not “I.” We’re also having the wedding party write their own mini paragraphs for the bridal party section.

You could just write the story from a “we” perspective. Don’t use “I” or third person.

We just said “we” instead of “I” on the story part. There was a moment we needed to use third-person for clarity and that felt strange, but that was it!

Our website is from “our” perspective. My FH wrote our story and everything is “we”.

We broke up our story into sections with each of us writing parts of it. Basically trading off. Sounds weird, but I think it worked.

You could write as "We" instead of "They"

This was what I wrote on ours:

    Our Story

We Met: 4.19.2019 on a dating app called "Hinge". It was love at first conversation.

We got Engaged: 3.7.2020 in the evening on a relatively secluded beach in Corona Del Mar, CA with my best friends and my family secretly filming and photographing the whole event.

We say I Do: 10.17.2020 with all of you there.

Some may say we've moved quickly, but truely when "[...] you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible." - Harry (When Harry Met Sally) and we did it at our perfect speed.
