We are on a tight budget and we are cutting costs at every corner. I am preparing my wedding invites and strongly want to include our website URL at the bottom of our invites so we don't have to pay extra for inserts. The internet tells me that this is an absolute no, but I really don't understand the need for an entire insert just for a URL. The whole point is to save money on our invites and postage. I don't think it looks tacky at all. I simply included at the bottom of the invite "Kindly RSVP at" and then the URL. We also had the URL on our Save the Dates. The internet confuses me. Thoughts?

I like the business card idea to include the RSVP info, you could easily print them by yourself. But I also don't hate your example where you put the RSVP info on the invitation

I think it looks fine on the invitation.

Yeah - I'm just going to put my wedding link at the bottom. Honestly, we are only inviting 150 people and I'm sure most of them wouldn't even know about wedding etiquette enough to think it's tacky. Plus, the people we are inviting we are all very close to and are in contact on a regular basis. It would be easy just to call everyone up for an RSVP if we wanted. I got too caught up in what I should or shouldn't do. This day is much more about getting to marry the most amazing person I could have ever imagined. The wedding event is more for our family and friends than it is for us. Smiley smile We just want to be married. Thanks, everyone for your advice!! I think I'm just going to keep it short and simple and keep it on the front. I'm a very practical person, and, to me, this is the most practical solution. I would put it on the back, but I have a really good discount for DB invites and they don't give an opportunity to put text on the back.

I think the url on the invite looks fine, but I agree with Kate, that the top has a lot of empty space. We put our website info on business cards. We got more than we'll ever use (250) for less than $10 at vistaprint.

We did the URL on the invite as well--I don't want to pay even $20 more for something simple like that, but ours isn't a super formal affair

I think if it'll look like that it'll be ok. I think it looks misplaced on the invite if it says RSVP at

    https://www.weddingwire.com/public/.... - if it is

www.joeandsue.com then I don't think people will notice.

If you didn't personalize the URL then I would put it somewhere else.

Another option is potentially printing on the back? I think some layouts let you put some details on the back of the invitation if you had more info you wanted to put regarding website and accommodations.

ETA: Saw you can't print on back. ignore that part

You know what I've learned about asking for advice on these forums? Don't do it! It's your wedding, do whatever you want!

I put my rsvp info and website on the back of my invites to keep the front looking clean and perfect. Don't care if a rule says otherwise lol. Just do that? Get a different invite website if you need. Minted.com let me do it.

I also put our wedding website on the invite for several reasons. I didn't want this little card getting lost which I have personally done before. I don't want to leave my guests responsible for sending RSVPs back. Again, personally, I've had prepaid postage envelopes and put it in my car so I wouldn't forget to mail it and it took me 3 weeks to remember it and drop it off. Its not that I don't think they're responsible, I just think RSVPing on a website would be way easier for them. Also, hoping people write their names so that we can accurately account for everyone was not anything we wanted to do. Needless to say, I think it looks awesome.

To be honest, I'm two seconds from opening a word document, buying construction paper and glue sticks, and crafting my own. LOL!

I would print your own insert. I designed all of my inserts myself and will be printing them and cutting them.

I have a question: Do you add the URL on the save the date or the invite? I haven’t send out my save the date yet but would be easier if people register through the link already so I know with time how many guests I’m gonna have for the actual wedding invites, no ?
