Wedding Website - About Us Section

So, I have been putting off making my wedding website public because I have neglected to write the 'About Us' section. I hate writing about myself, and just hate writing in general (so does FH). My question is, do we need to have this? I feel like it might be weird without one. What are you writing about for yours, if you have one? I would love to see some examples if you don't mind sharing.

I did one. It is one paragraph. Short and sweet. Who, what, where and how we met.

We skipped it. We included hotel info, transportation info, as it gets closer we will add ceremony/reception times, parking info and things to do in our city that weekend for out of towners.

I like them because if you only know one side of the couple, you get to know the other person a bit through the site. I also like looking at the cute photos couples post.

@soontobeRTR, I am a grammar nerd as well! I love your bio!

No offense, but if it isn't one paragraph, nobody's reading it...sorry. They also don't read the bios of your honor attendants, so I'd suggest just a name and a relation to the couple.

What they're interested in is cash bar/dry wedding, gaps of any length, port-a-potties, climate control, bugs. registries, and if they have to hike terrain to get to your ceremony location. Other than that, they're living their lives and waiting for the formal invitation

I skipped it. On the first page I just said welcome to our wedding website and we look forward to celebrating with them and that any information regarding travel and accommodations could be found on the website. I hate writing about myself.

If you're using the wedding wire website .. you should be able to edit the page so that you can include pictures "our favorite moments throughout our relationship" and just add a series of pictures ... instead of a story

I did mine as bullet points of how we met and of fun facts about us separately. Made it soo much easier and I got so many compliments about it. My goal was to make sure it wasn't boring. Lol

You're more than welcomed to browse through mine for ideas. Browsing others gave me my inspiration. www.weddingwire.com/chamberswedding17

    Hope this helps

We both put some effort and write of how we meet, and where we went for our first date, how exactly he asked me to be his girlfriend, and how funny and cute it was to hear him say the I love you first in (Tagalog) my native language. It doesn't have to be long, but something fun fact about you both. Smiley smile It can be fun to read... Smiley smile

I wrote ours in the 3rd person, just a little blurb about how we met.

I skipped it. I've always found them a bit awkward. We are just using our website for strictly factual information-- conveying info about travel/accommodations/addresses of ceremony and reception.

We left that section off of our website. I didn't know what.to write and FH didn't want to or know what to write either. We both agreed that everyone invites and looking at the website knows who we both are and there was no need for it.

I wrote a thank you to our friends and family and made it about them. I hate those sections on wedding websites. It's awkward and seems a bit too over the top for me personally. I wrote a short thank you letter for those coming to celebrate with us and how to share photos with our hashtag.
