Wedding time

Boohoo8812, on September 4, 2019 at 12:47 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 4
I'm having a small backyard wedding. No cocktail hour but some dancing. We want a sunset wedding so ceremony at 5:30 or 6. My problem is most of my guests live about 2 hours away and won't want to get a hotel room. Is the start of my wedding too late? I figure about 2 1/2 to 3 hour reception, so they have time to get home at a decent hour. Is that too short?

Have the wedding you want. Your plan seems good. Your guests can make the decision on driving back, getting a hotel, or declining the invite.

I agree with this. Also, your wedding is on a Friday so most people won't be concerned with getting home super early anyways.

People can figure out if they want a hotel room or want to drive two hours, I'd plan a normal timing wedding!

Hey there! I totally agree with the pps, although you are being so considerate of all of your guests. You could definitely plan for a longer reception if you wanted, then you will be able to continue to celebrate with guests who made the decision to book a hotel or to stay later.
