My FH and I are getting married outside in the summer. We don't want to be saying our "I Dos" when it's the hottest outside and neither of us are super early morning risers unless we absolutely have to be so we decided on a later afternoon wedding with a reception that goes all night. Are you having a morning, afternoon or evening wedding? How did you decide on your time?

We're leaning toward an outdoor wedding in August (in the south). We're looking at a start time of 5:30.

We're doing our ceremony at 4pm, for kind of the same reason. It should be very warm that day at our venue, and we wanted to wait until after the worst heat of the day is over.

I’m also not a morning riser and we will also be having our wedding in the summer we will be having the ceremony at 4 that way it’s not as hot and gives me a chance to do a first look with my dad and spend time with him before he walks me down the aisle. take pictures around 5 (that’s the start of good lighting which also encouraged us to have a later wedding) and we want to have a small nerdy after party (with games) without it getting super late. So we settled for 4

Mine is starting at 11 am! I only made the decision based on price, but I love the idea of having the whole night with my future husband!

Our ceremony will start at 2 pm, reception will end at 530. Our wedding is a Sunday and most will be traveling an average of an 1.5 hours to be there so we wanted to make sure everyone was able to get home at a decent hour. It will also be indoors for the most part and in September which will be more comfortable, temperature wise.

I have 2 cousins getting married in June and both are starting their ceremonies around 6 pm and having their receptions last all night, because of it being hotter during the day.

We decided our time based on 3 things

    1. We have a toddler

    2. The venue's availability

    3. The date's level of importance to us

So, we chose Valentine's day at a popular venue. It's literally beautiful and free with a security deposit. The time slots being either 9 am wedding, 11:00 am wedding or a 8 pm wedding. Toddler doesn't work work with 9 am or 8 pm. And that's why we chose 11 am.

I am having my wedding in the afternoon (3:30 pm), I chose this time because my wedding is on a Sunday and I know that will be busy in the morning to get ready. Also, I wanted my guests to be able to enjoy my wedding for the length of time that I am having it and it gives them time to be able get home at a decent time or plan for when they are leaving if they are out town.

Since we're getting married outside, we are avoiding midday because the lighting won't be best for pictures. We haven't set a time yet, but we are thinking around 4:30 or 5pm for the ceremony to begin. Theoretically, I would like to do a morning wedding, but I don't want to be rushing all morning and stressing about falling behind schedule. With a late afternoon/evening ceremony I hope everyone can feel more relaxed. Also, people who don't want to get a hotel room in Breckenridge for the night before will have plenty of time to drive up on the day of (it's about 3 hours from our house).

We are getting married in June at 2pm.
We chose that time because it's a little cheaper to feed people right after lunch and before dinner(5pm)
I'm not a morning person myself , but I'm guessing our day will begin pretty early getting ready.
I'm sure it will be hot...but, summer in the South always is.
We are getting married outside, but we have the whole venue and can move inside if necessary. Smiley smile

Evening just as the sun is going down. I envision lots of candle light and soft lighting so the evening works best for that I think.

I had an afternoon wedding. It was actually our photographer that decided on the time since she send me a rough timeline. I wanted sunset photos and no first look so she planned the best time for ceremony to make sure I got enough daylight and sunset for photos.

Evening! Our theme is Written in the Stars so it fits. Ceremony just before sunset, reception after dark.

Evening. Our ceremony starts at 5pm. I wanted to be able to sleep on before getting ready 🤷🏽‍♀️

We decided on 4:30 for a July wedding. Didnt want it to be too hot or buggy out, and wanted sunset pictures.
