Wedding Themes

Molly, on July 16, 2019 at 9:23 AM Posted in Planning 0 12
I woke up freaking out. How the H did you get/plan/create an overall feel/theme for your wedding? I feel like the stuff I am collecting is random. I have centerpieces already, black lanterns with maroon/white flowers, my bridesmaid dresses are supposed to be dusk (lilac/light purple) but my wedding is in spring on a golf course (Arrowhead in Littleton). Is that weird? Too many colors? I have Pinterest but it’s been a curse not a help.

TIA!

I don't think it is too many colors, especially since I feel those colors would go nicely together.

I don't necessarily have a "theme" for my wedding, but it is more of a feeling. We went with more earthy, natural with a hint of elegant. Our colors are white, ivory, and emerald. So basically we stuck with a bunch of greenery (especially since our reception space is inside, but with trees inside the building) and white flowers. I say as long as everything can fit cohesively and you feel it looks nice then it should be fine! Just think of the "feeling" you want from your wedding (rustic, elegant, classic, bohemian, etc.) and go from there

I think sometimes we can think it's a lot going on but that it does come together better than we think

I think that sounds beautiful, kind of a twilight/dusk theme

We don't have a theme either, and we have three colors, navy blue, gold and silver! Now, they just happen to be "starry night" colors, so some things I've bought have that theme, but we're not going in like "this is our theme and everything has to match it". I think your colors will look great!

“Wedding” is a perfectly good theme, you really don’t need anything more. White and shades of purple definitely isn’t too many colors. I think it’ll come together beautifully.

Our attire picked our theme. My dream dress and my FH's favorite suit style are both 1930s. So we decided to run with it haha

We didn't bother with a theme. We picked colors that complemented our venue and just kind of went from there. My wedding was Saturday and people have been telling us/our parents how lovely it was. I think Pinterest makes people overthink things sometimes. Just go with what you think looks pretty and it will be.
