Wedding themed face masks

Queen Cone, on June 16, 2020 at 3:23 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 18
So I don’t want to get ahead of myself here but I am hearing some talk of masks required at wedding venues. Is anyone considering getting an elaborate bridal mask. I hope to God they will make an exception for the bride and groom as long as we socially distance but in the event I have to wear one I want to be ready.

I don’t want one of those cheesy ones that say “bride.” I would want something that looks like it’s part of the outfit. I looked on Etsy but nothing seemed like it would go with my vintage-looking dress. I don’t want to draw attention to the fact I’m wearing a mask.
Anyone else have this on their mind? Or are you hoping we won’t need to worry about this?

Yes but I’m trying to convince myself we won’t be forced to. Maybe check Joann fabric stores to find one that matches your dress material and find a no-sew pattern online?

Ask whomever is doing your alterations to make one form the extra fabric of your gown.

I’m going to ask my alterations if I can have my extra lace that will be cut to make me a mask If needed.

The company that made my veil, Sara Gabriel, made masks for awhile I think? They had some prettier white ones. I would probably ask a seamstress to make me one that tied around the back of my head instead of over my ears and was just white with lace if this was something I was forced to do.

I’d would find fabric that matches your dress and take it to a dry cleaner and see if they can fashion one for you. The shops by me offer premade masks for $5.

I’ll probably end up making mine.

It's smart to be prepared with a mask you like, in the event you need to wear one on your wedding day. I can't imagine, if you are holding a wedding in a time and place where masks are required that there would be some exemption for the bride and groom. They could be carriers of COVID just like any of the guests could. Viruses don't make exemptions.

I like the idea of using excess fabric from your alterations.

We're having a really small wedding this year because of COVID but I know that in my state, masks are going to be required until there's a vaccine/treatment. I made masks for everyone so they'll look good together in pictures. I'm going to ask the lady who's doing my alterations to give me the extra fabric from my dress, and my fiancé ordered an extra tie so I could use that to make one for him.

Youre not the only one whos said that but i would assume that if guests were required to wear masks the bride and groom could take precautions not go near anyone so as not to have to wear a mask. not to mention all my guests know we had covid months ago.

I am looking at scarves and veil options that would work as a face covering but would be less obvious than a mask.

I also recently saw some pretty masks by this company who I follow for bodybuilding competition jewelry. They have started doing “going out masks” and might be able to do something to match your style. https://www.bodyblingjewelry.net/

I don't know where you are located but a bridal shop near me is doing customized masks. https://www.instagram.com/p/CA1UAsaj6IS/ The name of the bridal shop is Janene's Bridal Boutique.

Our new date is in August and it just donned on me this last week that this could be a possibility. I’m all for keeping everyone safe but just the thought of having to wear one as the bride makes me gag. I don’t want to have that in my pictures and have to be reminded of it. I also have a vintage style dress.

I know! who wants to pay all that money for makeup to have it ruined by a mask. I’m hoping that because the CDC guidelines says masks are only required for staff that my state will adopt that and not a stricter protocol. the venue thinks only staff will be required but who knows. technically masks are only necessary when u cant maintain social distance. if i have to stay 6 feet away from everyone i can do that. plus my venue is outdoor which is even better
