Did anyone do a wedding website and if so what is it for? And is it really necessary?

We had a wedding website through The Knot. You can post tons of info there including lodging, your registry, and venue address/info, among other things. It’s not necessary, per say, but it is nice for your guests to have all the info they will need at their fingertips.

We set up a website through WithJoy and it was very helpful. You only have so much room on a save the date or an invitation suite, and a website is the perfect place to put more details, registry links, handle RSVPs, travel/hotel info, etc.

With COVID and changing plans, it was also super simple to keep our guests up-to-date on what was going on.

I honestly can't imagine not having one!

It's not required and is a VERY new thing that many couples skip. You can design one very simply on Withjoy.com and it has rsvp features since the post office is so unreliable right now. But basically you can include info that doesn't go in the invitation packet.

It's not required, but it's a great way to provide info to your guests. They can RSVP through the website, get info on registry, hotel room block, date/time/address of the ceremony and reception, etc.

We did our wedding website through The Knot. It is a place where guests can obtain all information about your wedding like where and when it is, hotel info, registries, etc. I also included how we met, how my husband proposed, a photo of each person in our bridal party and a bit about them, things to do in town, and a FAQ page.

It’s not necessary but I’ve found it helps keep me on track. I’m still having doing a physical RSVP. We’ve done ours through The Knot.

I used the wedding wire website. It's definitely not necessary, but you can put a lot of information on them.

We made a wedding website and i only a handful of people even looked at it! Guess it just depends on if it’s something that you think your guest would find useful! I totally could have skipped it and no one would have noticed

Second, Zola. We are using them too, and I highly recommend that site. The site is super easy for you and your guests. You can also customize your URL, if interested. Zola Customer Service is outstanding. We even have a page of things to do, which will be important for us, because 90% of our reception guests are out of State.

If you have elderly or other guests who are not tech savvy, physical rsvps are ideal. You can ask your guests to respond by phone/text or rsvpify.com if you don't want to deal paper cards, especially right now with the post office good as closed since they aren't delivering on time.

I used the WeddingWire website and I personally really liked having all the wedding info in one place for our guests. It saved room on the invites, had online RSVp and should have been a great help. HOWEVER. No one has used it or knows how to even though we put it on our STD and invitation and have sent direct links via email to family.

The wedding website is a one stop shop of information for your guests. You put all of the need to know logistical info on there (date, time, location, dress code, hotel room blocks, transportation/shuttles, etc). If you are having a registry, you can link it there as well. We did ours through The Knot and used it to collect RSVPs and meal choices, as well as give our guests information about local hotels, transportation tips, and things to do in the area. It can also be nice for sharing photos of the couple and a bit about your story, which is great for guests who might only know the bride or groom well and have not met the other person yet. We also found it helpful for posting Covid updates once the pandemic hit.
