Wedding Signs

For our elopement celebration I’ll be making some signs. I do not have a cricut to make wooden signs, and my hand writing is not wonderful either. Advice on how you made wooden signs? We have the wood already.

Do any of your friends or family members have a cricuit? I have a friend that has offered to let me come over to use hers as long as I buy the materials.

Otherwise, I would recommend buying stencils from a store like Hobby Lobby!

Have you considered buying vinyl stickers? I bought Vinyl stickers for these cups I just made and they are pretty good! I asked the person I bought From about getting letters and she said it would be no problem. If I had to guess if you throw some paint on the wood and stick the vinyl stickers it will look great. The picture is just for how the vinyl stickers look.

What I did was look up examples of what I wanted to write in the font/handwriting I liked. Then I took paper and laud it over my screen (turned up super bright) and traced the lettering. Then I laid it over my signs and traced the lettering with the tip of a pen. Apply a lot of pressure so it can be seen!! Then I used paint pens to go over that. I think mine turned out really good and I’m sure no one would have guessed that was my method!

T guestbook sign is the one I used this method for. The others were free hand!

This is exactly what I would do - or print the lettering and trace from that. Your signs look great!

I would also suggest FB Marketplace- you never know who has the same tastes as you.

    Similar to what Lauren did,
I downloaded the fonts to my computer then printed the words out to fit my signs.
Transfer paper will be your best friend in this too! It's a sheet with chalk on the back so you dont have to press down crazy hard to make an indent in wood. I made all of my signs that way.

This looks great and such thin lines! Must be really smooth wood. I had troubles with the paint pen cuz my wood wasn't sealed and it was bleeding so I stopped. Once I sealed it I redid the letters and finished!
