Wedding Shower Registry Suggestions

Danica, on July 30, 2019 at 12:07 AM Posted in Registry 0 7
So I wasn't originally going to make a wedding registry because due to our current living situation, we have almost everything we need. There's just a few small things we don't have. Part of my FH's family has decided they want to throw us a shower so they are pushing me to come up with a couple registries. We decided to incorporate registries together for the few household things we need/want, any tools or things he may need to do projects around the house, & I created one on etsy with a couple big items we need for the wedding if anyone chooses to purchase them to help us out.

I need suggestions on the best places to create a registry through... So far I have Wal-Mart & Etsy... Thanks in advance for any help!!

That's kind of them to offer to throw you a shower.

What do you mean by "big things you need for the wedding?" Decorations?

I’ve heard good things about Zola and I know you can add things from several different retailers. We did Bed Bath and Beyond, Crate and Barrel, and Pottery Barn. I don’t think it’s appropriate to ask people to purchase things you need for the wedding though.

We're doing a non-traditional guestbook. It's wooden with a spot to place a picture in the middle & everyone sign around it with sharpies. So therefore after the wedding it will be hung up & used as decoration in the house unlike a traditional book which typically just gets put on a shelf. The other wedding item is a cord of 3 strands unity cross. Also handmade, wooden, & can be used in our home as decor afterwards. I'll attach pictures...

We have paid for everything for our wedding thus far & haven't asked either of our familes for help. A couple of them have asked recently what they can get us to help so that's why I added them 2 big items to an Etsy registry if anyone chooses to help with them. I don't expect anyone to, but would definitely be very thankful if they did.

I didn't either! I had to Google search if it was even a thing & how to set it up because I couldn't find a link to set one up on my Etsy app. Had to go directly to the website itself!

Are there things in your home that you'd like to upgrade? We didn't have a shower, but when we created our wedding registry, we didn't have too many things that we really needed. But we wanted to upgrade things like dishes, knives, and pots and pans. We registered on Amazon because you can allow people to contribute money toward a gift instead of having to buy it outright. Many of the things we'd like to upgrade cost more than I'd like one person or family to spend for a gift, but multiple people can pitch in for it.

I love our Zola registry! You can register for things from a lot of different retailers and create group gifts (where people can contribute money towards an item -- we have our Yeti cooler and Kitchen Aid mixer as group gifts). They also let you register for gift cards (everything from flights to Airbnb to Fandango). If there are items on your list that weren't bought, you get 20% off those items after your wedding date. Oh, and they always have free shipping!
