Wedding Rsvps

How do people do wedding RSVPs nowadays? A mail back RSVP card? Or on the wedding website? And when should they RSVP by?

For our wedding we choose to have people mail back their reply cards. We had numerous guests we knew wouldn't be able to figure out how to do it online and I also liked the excitement of getting something in the mail to open. As for the deadline, I would recommend 1-2 weeks prior to your final guest count being due to your caterer as that will give you time to track down any guests that don't reply.

Everyone does it different. Older guests, ones who are not tech savvy and those who are straight up traditional prefer mail in cards. Younger crowd prefers websites. You also have the option of letting guests rsvp via text/phone/email.

You can set up a free account at rsvpify.com which comes highly recommended by older posts or you can collect them on your withjoy.com website which has its own reply system that many who choose not to use WW to share with guests due to glitches have used.

Replies are often due back a week before the caterer needs a final headcount. The extra week allows you time to track down anyone who didn’t respond. The time frame used to be a couple weeks before the wedding but many caterers have pushed that date to 4 weeks out, which only leaves 2 weeks for guests to decide if they can attend.

I want to do fully online (no reply cards) but they can also call us or our parents to RSVP if they can't figure out the website. Our oldest guest will be 91 and she's pretty tech savvy so I'm not worried

I've always just RSVP'd online if it was an option. We're doing both reply postcards and online - I know some of our guests aren't super tech savvy or are more traditional (and who doesn't love getting snail mail?!) and Minted's all-in-one invitations (that include the postcard) is actually cheaper than just an invite + envelope through them!

We’re doing online only. We saw no need for an extra stamp on a small card these days. All of our guests know how to use basic technology. The only guests who might struggle are my parents 🤦🏽‍♀️ … But I already know they’re coming anyway 😉

We're doing online only! I included a small enclosure card with the invitations. Here's mine!

We’re doing online only RSVP. Most of our guests are tech savvy. Anyone who isn’t (very few people, like my grandma) can have someone help or call us directly to let us know.

We’re giving our guests the option to rsvp online or mail. I’m doing the minted all in one invitation that comes with the rsvp card attached so, if guests want to do it that way they can. On the invitation, it’ll have our website where they can rsvp there as well.

A lot of people do website RSVP but that should never replace the paper invite for older less tech savvy folks

Rhere are several ways being done by a lot of people each. By mail, with the invite yhat arrived 8 weeks out due back 22-28 before the wedding. Many workplaces and schools give final time off no more than 28 days out. And Website return as late as 25-28 days. For very small weddings, or those on short notice, It os acceptable to be less formal and either have each guest call or email the hostess around 3 weeks out, of set that week as when hosts will call them. When it is only 40 or so households, around 60 phone calls, it does not take long and gets it over quickly.
