Wedding reschedule.

So I went ahead and took the initiative and rescheduled my wedding for a month away on account of hurricane Irma and her uncertainty to her effect on South Florida. It was something I was struggling with because I was so excited but I was so concerned even if the weather isn't expected to to deteriorate until late Saturday night early Sunday I didn't want to risk the safety of any of my guests just so they could come celebrate with me. We have a couple out of town guests as well and it didn't feel right to have them be away from their families and potentially be stuck in Miami. So hopefully the new date I picked out is available at the venue. I have not taken on any extra charges. But I can say now I will definitely purchase wedding insurance. It was always on my to-do list and I never did. I was such a nervous wreck yesterday blue to channel 7 all day long and all it did was create such a panic Within Me. But now I'm at peace because I know I have done the right thing.

Why the heck did you reschedule for a month after a major hurricane is set to hit? Honestly, IMO, that sounds like a bad idea. I really hope you have another back up plan if that falls through....

@hahnsolo are you kidding me??? She pushed it back as the best option since we don't know exactly how this hurricane will affect us. Unless you are a Floridian I'm not sure you can relate to what potentially will happen. There is a lot of uncertainty. Your comment is rude AF.

@OP props to you! Be safe. I'm in Fort Lauderdale area here and we may or may not be evacuating depending on what cat this hurricane is.

Praying for you and your family. This is a really scary situation. I went through Hurricane Andrew and I'm so afraid for the threat Irma poses.

Geez, I apologize, I read the date wrong. @bridetobe, your comment was unnecessary, don't assume other people haven't been through these types of things when YOU don't know them, but thank you for judging me. Next time I get stuck at work for 27 hours due to a hurricane, I'll still remember I can't relate to what is happening.

I realize that might have not been the easiest decision to make, but I do think it was a good call. It was hard hearing how Harvey has affected those in Texas, and is hard yet again to hear how Irma is going to affect more people.

Yeah dude you need to check every single one of your vendors before changing your date and being at peace. I'd be the total opposite of "at peace" if I told everyone the date was changed without checking with every single vendor.

@tricia please read the previous comments. I wouldn't just change the date and spread the word without checking. And peace is in the form of safety as opposed to having a venue secured. EVERYTHING is taken care of. All vendors notified.

Kelly you should add an update to your OP, otherwise you will continue to have people comment that you need to check with your vendors... some people don't read all of the comments before responding to a thread.
