Wedding Rehearsal & Dinner

Kesha, on July 29, 2019 at 3:47 PM Posted in Parties and Events 1 6

My date is November 2, 2019. The dilemma I'm having is how to plan this rehearsal considering some of our people won't be able to get here until the day before. (Talk about total anxiety) Our ceremony and reception are 45 mins away from where we live. How? When? and Where should I plan my rehearsal dinner considering the distance to the site? Having the dinner on site makes it practical but also puts us over our budget.

Traditionally, the rehearsal and dinner are held the day before the wedding. If using your venue is over budget, I would recommend having the rehearsal there then moving to a restaurant in the same area for the dinner! You could even host it at home if you and your guests are willing to make the drive that day!

Can you rehearse at the venue then have dinner at a nearby restaurant?

I was thinking of that but there aren't alot of good options to have it at. It's mostly like chain restaurants that I've found so far. But I will keep looking.

As PPs said, definitely have the reception at the venue! For the dinner, maybe you could host the rehearsal dinner at your home? You don't need to worry about it being fancy - pizza and drinks would work fine, for example!

We are doing pizza at home unless I find somewhere cheap to host. I don't think you need to host.

Also do you have a big party? We may not even have an actual rehearsal in the venue so that would save travel and you could do something closer to where you live and still do a mock rehearsal if you really wanted.
