Wedding Registry

Cara, on November 7, 2019 at 11:56 AM Posted in Planning 0 17
We are planning on getting our wedding registry together this weekend. We’ve live together for several years already so don’t need a lot of stuff. We already have our honeymoon taken care of so don’t need a honeyfund. We’ve got a lot of things we want to upgrade and a few new things but I’m not sure it’s enough. What are some unique things that you’ve registered for that you don’t see on a typical registry?

We registered for camping and fishing gear and some items for our future backyard like a fire pit and a grill.

I'm moving in with after the wedding, but he has his house mostly equipped, so we don't need much either. So I found this online, I will use it as a guide.

We registered for gifts, honeymoon funds, experience funds (baseball game for 2, massage for 2 etc.) and charity donations (ASPCA, St. Judes) all on Zola. I put the funds as our top priority but included gifts as well

Same position. We put nice bakeware and utensils, new plates to include everyday, fine china and even a Christmas set that mimics my grandmother's set. We also put picture fram3wx decorative blankets and baskets, nice vases, new towels and bedding. I didnt think I needed anything until I really looked and realized that we could use new dishes, sheets, etc.

We are in the same boat! We’ve lived together for a few years so we have “everything” and I don’t see the sense in registering for things we’ll never use. We just started our registry, but so far we have Egyptian cotton sheets, king sized fleece blanket, and glass Tupperware. For me these items are things that are more of a luxury compared to what we currently have, and not things we would typically splurge on to replace ourselves. We also have Airbnb gift cards, picture frames (you’ll need something to put your wedding photos in!) and the complete Harry Potter movie set. So far, that’s everything we’ve come up with searching amazon. We plan to have about 30-40 items listed, guest list is about 100, we don’t fully expect everyone to shop the registry as our friends’ recent wedding they received mostly cash in lieu of gift and while we mostly hope for this (we’re also looking to buy our own home soon) we still want to have the option of physical gifts that will benefit us for those who prefer that route.

We just started on our registry as well. We've been living together for 2 years now. We're putting a few upgrades on our registry, but we're struggling to come up with new things that we need/want.

Some of the more unusual things that we put on are put a Shark IQ Robot (like roomba, but cheaper), a Ninja Foodi, a few board games, a video game controller (we both play videogames), a cat tree, an outdoor firepit and some storage tubs.

Otherwise, we have small appliance upgrades, rugs, throw pillows, blankets, pots and pans, baking dishes, towels, bedding, mirrors, wooden cooking utensils, etc. Nothing too out of the ordinary.

I’m using MyRegistry. It let me register for stuff from one of my favorite stores, Muji. We haven’t registered for anything out there. We put luggage (which i didn’t think was normal). I being able to register on amazon really also opens to the door for anything. My fiancé has also expressed wanting to register for a couch.

for us, it’s hard because we’re trying to cut down stuff.

I'd recommend walking through a store, wherever you plan on registering, and seeing what they have. There's all kinds of things out there you might find useful that you didn't know you needed!!! Here's a few articles I found with some fun things you can register for.

I don’t know if there are other sites for wedding registries where you can link things that aren’t in their “store” because I haven’t checked into that....

But theme park tickets or season passes might be an idea if you have one near you. I have a membership for the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park and it’s the best gift I ever got.

I recommend using Blueprint registry! You can import lists from any store and they have options for experiences.

My FH and I have been living together for 2.5 years and have everything we need. We'll be registering for a fire pit and do the honeymoon fund, but also put a bunch of experience-based items on our registry. Couples massages, house cleaning service, tickets to sports events, helicopter tour, etc. We don't have date night out very often since we're homebodies, so it's nice to have an excuse to go out Smiley winking

We also lived together before getting married, so most things we registered for were upgrades or non-traditional registry items. We registered for nice new serving dishes for when we entertain, we registered for new bedding for all of our beds, a Roomba, and new dishes/silverware. But then we also registered for a grill, a Keurig pod variety pack with stand, and a Kegerator (my wife's idea that I wasn't totally on board with lol, but we got one!). Amazon is a great place to register because you can literally register for anything!

I've been looking at ideas for my fiance and I too. We already have a house as well. I believe on HoneyFund you can use the money for whatever you want. Such as any kind of home upgrades and such. Look at Amazon! Literally the best place to register lol

I've been making a list for the last few weeks of things we don't necessarily "need" but would be nice to have. For example, we have a kuerig but it would be nice to have a drop coffee maker for when we host guests. I'm also planning to put a bike rack on their and maybe some things for our home gym like a bench and pullup bar
