So I was rereading my contract for my venue, and it says that since the town noise ordinance must end at 9pm, it seemed like our reception must end at 9pm. I tried asking the owner and see if I can maybe end it at 9:30pm, just for smores in the fire pit. But my main question is, will that be lame...

But my main question is, will that be lame having a wedding reception end at 9pm? It's going to be on Sunday memorial day weekend and it's a very small wedding( 50 people and only family).. Unfortunately I already sent out my invitation stating that the ceremony starts at 4:30pm before I reread my contract. I already have the cocktail hour only for 30 mins and a 30 mins ceremony, not sure what else I can shorten.

Our reception has to end at 10pm because of noise ordinances, but we are able to have a bonfire and stay on the property as long as we like after that. I'm so ridiculously excited about sitting around a fire with my friends and family. You mentioned asking about having a bonfire after? I think if you can do that it won't feel like the night is ending so early.

Ours ends at 6pm, but we plan to keep the party going back at the hotel.

I'm thinking of doing a similar timeline for my wedding! How did it go? Would you recommend that timeline? Also, know this is years ago now, but Congrats on your wedding Smiley smile
