Wedding Program Wording for deceased groom's mother

Sarah, on August 6, 2014 at 6:55 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5

I need suggestions on how to word parents of the groom on our wedding program. The groom's mother is deceased and his father is re-married. The groom's aunt will be filling the roll his mother would have, so we would like to recognize the aunt on the program as well. What the best way to put all of this on the program?

Honestly, I'd just do "Together with their families, Bride and Groom invite you....." Otherwise there are going to be a lot of words on that invitation. The way to recognize her would be on the programs.

Why can't you do the same on the program?

    On the program you put

Brides Parents Mr & Mrs. Jon Doe

Grooms Parents Mr & Mrs. Jon Smith

Not sure how to word it with the deceased mother of the groom and how to include the aunt
