Wedding Prep Lifestyle Changes

Elizabeth, on July 19, 2019 at 2:25 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 20
What changes have/are you making to prepare for your wedding? I'm not going on any "wedding" diet per say, however, I made some some lifestyle changes to prep myself to keep my energy levels up, especially physically and mentally. I plan to keep these changes beyond our wedding-- I've tuned into my body more. I still love chocolate, desserts, carbs, etc, however, I'm consciously making better choices. I'm not denying myself anything though-- I love cooking and baking, and never substitute fat-free for full-fat (no one likes a grainy cheesecake). Anywho, I've used several recipes in the book below and keep track of what I eat every week. National Cheesecake Day is this month; yes, FH and I have a date night at Cheesecake Factory and will each get our own cheesecake slice (half our meal will come home with us).

I love that. I didn't do a bridal diet specifically but rather I just started being more active for my life in general. I was never really physically active and so I started taking it up more once I got engaged to not just look good but also feel good and after my wedding I held onto that so I could just be healthy

Not a diet but I've considered getting one of those devices that's supposed to fix your posture to try.

I've been searching for a post like this! This isn't diet related, but I've recently been really getting into self care to help alleviate my stress. So I splurged on Anthropologie and got a bunch of bath salts, soaps, lotions and wellness items that I'm collecting and not touching until the following week in our new apartment. I'm so excited to use them!

I actually just started to also get really into self care alleviating my stress and been using a lot essential oils! I've been using them both topically and aromatherapy. I've noticed so far some of my muscle tension has decreased, but I'm still far from where I want to be.

Haven't done a diet. But I started doing hot yoga again to help with stress. It has really helped with my arms and has boosted my metabolism so I can eat what I want while planning.

I've taken up running and I'm more careful about what I eat! I have so much more energy now that I work out regularly and actually take care of myself

I am not doing anything food-related.However, my doctor pulled me off birth control nearly 2 years ago, now, and it sent my skin into an awful spiral. I changed up my skin care, because I kept getting the most awful acne!
Thankfully, it looks like my combo of soaps is really helping. My skin isn't completely clear like it used to be, but I can track when it will break out due to my cycle/the weather, and most of the zits I get are much smaller.

I hear ya, I splurged at Lush and at the VS semi-annual! I also have a difuser form a fabfitfun box and it adds an extra touch to turning our bathroom into a spa!

Same! I have way more energy than before (and that's saying something b/c my energy level is high to begin with).

Yoga is great and I need to practice it more. Too bad there aren't more hours in a day, lol. I get some in everyday, even 5 minutes helps get me moving and sharpens me in the mornings!

Yeah, I watch how my skin reacts to the weather-- its' my sign that I need to switch things around in my skincare routine.

I heard wedding diets aren't the healthiest and I'd rather make lifestyle changes than temporary ones. I'm definitely drinking more water and not just because it's summer either. My skin loves it!

I went back to watching/cutting my calorie intake, as well as making sure to get moving more frequently. I was cutting serious calories and doing two-a-days for a few weeks, and there was a very quick and noticeable difference! I had a lot of old muscle tissue lying in wait to pump back up, though, so I credit that. Then I had my period and now I'm in my second week of being ill, so I just started moving again tonight. Here's hoping all the progress won't be lost!
