Wedding Photos - Are you including long term girlfriends/boyfriends of siblings?

Not sure if we should include sibling girlfriends or boyfriends in family photos.. Thoughts? I have considered doing one without and one with but I don't want to waste our time on our wedding day!

What about there couples that have decided not to marry but are committed life partners? Are they not considered family because they don’t have a marriage certificate?

If your siblings share children with their long term SO's then I would definitely include them, as well as any couples who are engaged or you secretly know are likely to be engaged/married in the near future, or are committed life partners (some choose not to marry for various reasons but are definitely "in it" long term).

Otherwise its up to you. I would probably look at it logistically - if you have lots of siblings and SO's of various levels of commitment, it would be complicated to organize, but if you are only talking a few people then taking one extra photo with the SO's as well as one without would probably be best.

The only members of my family who are going to have their (unmarried) significant others in the picture are my sister and brother. But I do plan on making sure we get a sibling photo with the SO's and without. They will not be in the larger family photos.

I would suggest doing one set of JUST the actual family members and one set with SOs, just in case.

At my grandfather's funeral (sorry for the weird reference), we did one set with everyone, then my aunt kicked my boyfriend (now fiancè) out for one picture, and my cousin's wife for the last one so it was only "original" family members.

You could do something like that, or if that would take too long, just have your siblings' bf/gf stand at the end of the group so it's easy to crop them out if you need to later on.
