This has been stressing me out and I don't know if it should. Not sure if I'm using this situation as an explanation for other wedding related stressors.
I got engaged in March 2024, and set my wedding date in May 2024. We are getting married in May 2026, and have decided to plan things far in advance. We had almost everything booked by January of 2025. Wedding party was decided, dates were communicated and confirmed. In February of 2025 my person of honor got engaged. They then decided, quite quickly, that they would be having their wedding in March of 2026. Two months before mine. Since then we have received no information on the wedding other than the date and venue. No invites or save the dates have been sent. No information has been given. Also, I live in Arizona and they live in Virginia. That's a long way to travel (I'm more than happy to do it) but still have no information. Am I right to be frustrated? I feel annoyed that their wedding is being wedged in right before ours. I feel like I can't plan certain things (bridal shower, bachelor/bachelorette parties, etc.) because I don't know when this person's events are happening. I haven't said anything but as things get closer I am getting more stressed. I know that I cannot lay claim to the entire year of 2026, but it just feels a little bit inconsiderate. We also have a good amount of overlapping guests with regard to friends and family. Any advice is helpful. Is this something I should worry about? It keeps me up at night.
