Wedding on a Thursday ?

I just found a beautiful Venue and they have an amazing price for a wedding on Thursdays. Need some thoughts on having a wedding on a Thursday? All venues in Miami, FL are way over my budget even to host on a weekday.

FH and I are attending a wedding on a Thursday in a couple of weeks. I think it's odd but we're local to where the wedding is taking place so we will be there. It will be a little time crunched with getting off work and then getting wedding ready in time but we'll make it work. I think a Friday or Sunday would be better. Fridays and Sundays often also offer a discount and would be easier to get to.

Definitely seems like a "know your audience" type of thing. Mine's a DW so everyone is traveling anyway. We're getting married on a Tuesday!

I literally just booked a Tuesday NYC destination wedding for a couple from the UK, with 40ish guests in tow.

These threads always make me ask myself the same question....if going to a wedding for someone you love isn't worth taking time off from work, what is? It's a hypothetical question of course, and we all get invites that are just not that compelling but if someone really close to you is getting married and taking a day off isn't even on your radar (barring work scehdules set in stone) then what are those days off for?

I wouldn't worry about people declining. Not everyone works Monday-Friday and with enough advance, those who do work Thursday will be able to take off.

#TeamThursdayWedding over here. If someone can't come then I will understand but I'm not going to pass up a Thursday wedding because they can't.

We are planning a Thursday wedding because the photographer is only charging a third of a regular wedding price. We are having a small wedding (15 guests) and all of the family coming either is from OOT and is making a vacation out of it, is retired, or works a schedule that doesn't conflict. The few friends invited all immediately said they would take off work to come. I say go for it!

So nice to see so many other weddings on a Thursday. I am doing a Thursday wedding as well I'd say know your crowd, and ask all your VIP's before putting a deposit on a venue. I have no out of town guests, most of the people I know don't have Mon-Fri jobs, and those who do work will know with enough time in advance to make arrangements. I am holding my wedding from 3-9 pm so they can make it to work on Friday if need be.

What is your budget? How many guests? I know nice places in Miami with great pricing for Sunday weddings if you are interested

The Addison has a high F&B minimum for Thursday's. For a Monday-Wednesday it's $3500. It was my first choice but I’m not sure about doing a Monday-Wednesday wedding.

We'd consider a Thursday, but not 100% sold on the idea.

Jennifer, West Palm isn't exactly cheap either.

Thanks all ! I am so glad I'm not alone on this

@Michelle, I really like your thought of 3-9pm , not too late but not too early (thumbs up !)
