Wedding on a Budget!

I think we can all agree that we want our wedding day to be as special as possible. But that doesn’t mean it has to cost an arm and a leg. Curious as to where you all did(or are going to) cut corners, budgeted, etc. to make your wedding day a reality. 🙂

-No programs or save the dates(we called our guests instead and will send a formal invitation later on)
-Gonna make our invites online with vistaprint as a postcard because it’s cheaper than the wedding invite design
-All RSVPs will be done online so I don’t need to buy more paper and postage
-getting married on a Sunday saved $1000
    -no favors
-got a bunch of cute decorations at super discounted price from a chain of crafts stores that are closing
-my mom and aunt had some cool decor I can use
-gonna try and DIY some simple mason jars(also provided by my mom for free)
-our venue is all inclusive so we don’t have to buy/rent tables, chairs, plates, flatware, table cloths
-only doing beer and wine (FH doesn’t want anything, but I enjoy a nice glass of wine on special occasions so we compromised)
-fake flowers are gonna be for the centerpieces and we have a florist who used to make me corsages in high school that does beautiful wedding bouquets and boutonnieres for super low prices.
-we might skip on a DJ but we haven’t decided yet

    Well I’m doing DW but:
    no programs
    no menu cards
    DIY signs
using pics and Glass vases with colored, shells and floating candles as center piece no flowers
no cheesy favors guest leave behind
had invites, rsvp cards primed at Staples look amazing (free from gift cards)
    researching things no impulse buying

I didn't do flowers other than for the wedding party members and even those were fake and cheap off eBay and Michael's.
Next I saved on photo and video by having a friend do it. All I did was pay her travel expenses but that was cheap.
I opted for no bar. Instead the venue let me bring my own and so each table just had a bottle or two.
My wedding dress was an evening gown for cheap in white.

Reduce the guest list to 50 so I can have what I want without breaking the bank

Some of the things that we're doing to keep our budget low:

    - Small guest list

    - Probably only going to do beer and wine at the reception instead of the full bar

    - Buy a DIY invitation kit from Walmart or Amazon for under $20

    - DIY wedding party bouquets with fresh flowers from Sam's Club, or a grocery store or use fake flowers from Amazon (not decided yet)

    - Buy my FH a suit from Burlington or department store

    - Buy my girls dresses from Burlington or department store instead of a bridal shop

    - Going to buy disposable plate/cup/silverware sets from Amazon instead of renting them

-Probably going to order a smaller cake and add cupcakes from the grocery store

Also ordering a small display cake, and then costco sheet cakes they will cut/serve from the kitchen.

My boss gets large far niente bottles of wine delivered at the holidays, so I’ve been saving the gorgeous wooden crates they are delivered in for a card box, a floral display, and a holder for the large sparklers for our exit. because of this, we are using wine bottles as vases (everyone I know has offered to save me their decorative bottles and corks) and my friend gave me the dollar store vases she used for a quince to fill with corks and candles to complete the centerpieces.
