Wedding Menu

his_cheri_amor, on March 18, 2014 at 3:12 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 42

Hey everyone! What are you ladies having on your reception menu. Buffet or seat down dinner. I have no clue what I should order or do. I don't want to over do it with food. I am having a cocktail hour with a mash potato bar, fruits and veggies.

We are doing a lite cocktail hour with punch and nuts. For dinner we are having:

Sirloin Beef Tips w/a Burgundy Mushroom Gravy

    Whipped Potatoes

    Roasted mixed vegetables

    Fresh Yeast rolls

Since we weren't getting our dessert from here, our caterer threw in an extra side: Broccoli Casserole

    Lemonade

Our venue includes: cocktail hour with 3 stations (italian, meat & cheese, and asian), butler passed hors d'oeuvres (8-10 choices total I think?). Then there is a 4 course meal. We chose lobster bisque for the first course, salad/bread is the second, then the entrees, which are served with mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies. We've chosen filet mingnon, a chicken dish, and a salmon in cream sauce. Last course is dessert -- wedding cake served with a chocolate covered strawberry and butler passed pastries.

    What does your caterer offer?

We're having a buffet with 2 entrees (probably beef and salmon or turkey), 5 salads, potatoes, wild rice pilaf, a cooked vegetable and desserts. We're also having cake later on (an hour or 2 later?). We don't have any appetizers though.

Over do food....????? I'd say you can't really over do food, it all just depends on your budget. We're also looking at doing an afternoon tea with some light snacks after the ceremony since there's a break before the reception.

Our cocktail hour will be beer and wine with veggie trays fruit trays cheese n crack trays and a warm spinach dip with pitas, i actually chose a buffet option i was hesitant because i thing seated is little more elegant however the catere sets the buffet up so classy and i feel that with buffet you get a little more for your money and people have more options to choose from .

@Julia Beth My caterer offers buffet and/or a seated dinner. I'm thinking of choosing two entrees (salmon and chicken). I'm not sure about my sides yet. It's so many to choose from. My FH thinks we should do yellow rice and string beans
