Wedding loan

My fiancee and I are planning to pay for our wedding ourselves. We're looking to take out a small loan (10-15k) Does anyone have a suggestion of where to get it?

Anyone who wants to take out a loan to have a party will find a rational to justify it; it's not a lot of money, the payments are small, you can pay it down faster....

The bottom line is that it's dumb to take out a loan to have a party. The end.

I think everyone just thinks of money so differently. I would have paid twice the amount of interest if it meant having all of my loved ones in one place at one time again. Money comes and goes, but that is something will, more likely than not, never happen again. It was the first time me and my 5 siblings were ever in the same room together (the youngest is 25 and it took that long for this to happen). It will probably be the last time until someone has a funeral. I wasn't going to let the money I needed to borrow stand in the way of that happening. To some, it's just a party. To me, it was the one and only opportunity I had to have my family all together. It was worth it.

How in the hell is a 10-15K loan small? Please don't take the few here who took out a loan as validation for taking out a loan for a wedding. It just isn't a good idea. Have the wedding you can afford.

Hey there! I'm not going to criticize you for getting a loan. At the end of the day, you're an adult and you know what you're doing. FYI: Most places only require $1,000 for deposit. You pay most of it a month or two before the wedding date. So technically you have a year to pay it off. just set aside money on a monthly basis in order to avoid a loan. Also, if you're looking for inexpensive venues in LA, feel free to ask me. I am spending $9200 for 83 ppl and that includes ceremony, reception and beer and wine for 2 1/2 hours. I found venues for even less!
