On our invitations, my husband and I included: our names, wedding date, location, time, hotel block info, our wedding website, and how to RSVP (along with the deadline to RSVP). I would leave things like the dress code and registry info off the invites, and instead list it on your website.

My husband and I put the following information on our invitations: our names, wedding date, location, time, hotel block information, our wedding website, and how to RSVP (along with the deadline to RSVP) . I would publish information about the dress code and the registration on your website rather than including it in the invitations.

Can you clarify what you mean by using the website as the invitation? Do you plan on emailing just your website link to your guests and letting them find the date/time/location/etc online, rather than listing it in the message? Or did you mean just using the website to have guests RSVP?

Oh! I was thing about emailing the website to have guests RSVP but I also add the time/date/location in the part that said Event and also added a link through Google maps for the location. Is that too informal?

I think that could work! Though in the email, I would write something that clearly indicates that it's a wedding invitation, and that you would like them to RSVP. Maybe something like, "We are so excited to invite you to our wedding! It will be held on [date] at [place] at [time]. Please visit our wedding website for all the details and to RSVP: [website]", and the subject line could be something like, "You're Invited!" or "Your Invitation To [Name] & [Name]'s Wedding". Emailing the invitations is more informal than sending the invitation in the mail, but is certainly still valid!

Oh! That sounds so great! I'm so pressed for time and the invitations are so stressful for me right now! So i thought sending them online would be a lot quicker even if it was more informal but basically why im doing it this way. You are so wonderful! I appreciate all you help so so much! A million thanks!

Names, date, location, hotel block info, parking (which is limited so we will shuttle people to the wedding site, and dress code, since we are having an outdoor fireside wedding, so casual and clothes they won’t mind getting wood smoke) the important stuff because not everyone does much with computers and won’t have access to the website which was also included on the invite. RSVP of course.

You can do an online invitation where open the link and you see what looks like a standard invitation on one part of the page that contains the hosts names, the couple's names, time, place, date and a request to RSVP. Off to the side, separate from the virtual invitation or on a tab up top can be links to a wedding website or hotel and travel info, RSVP info and a place to reply, etc.

Most invites we have received, the main invitation lists the couple, the location with address, the date, the ceremony starting time. Reception information and details (written directions, etc) are on a separate details card. Never seen dress code unless it has been black tie required by the venue, in which case it is understood to be cocktail/semi formal. Reply card to be sent back is separate with its own stamped envelope, even when there is an online option.

Registry information is given via word of mouth in addition to bridal shower invites. We have only seen a website done once and that was listed on the details card.
