Wedding invitations help

Ashley, on December 7, 2019 at 2:46 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4
So I’m working on my invitations and since my parent are paying my mom wants her name on invitations . Her and my dad are not married and have different last names. Whose name goes first on the invitations?

Whoever you want, there’s no etiquette that I’m aware of on this.

I would do Mr. Bob Smith and Ms. Susan Jones, but that's just me. We didn't include our parents on our invitations since we paid for our wedding, but they were included on our programs. I couldn't find any real etiquette rules on this, but I did see if they are married, but mom uses her maiden name so I would just do the same way as that even though your parents aren't married.

I’ve always heard the women go first on invitations. Similar situation except bride’s parents have the same last name, also groom’s father passed. So we are doing:
    Ms. Bride’s mother
and Mr. Bride’s fatherTogether with Mrs. Groom’s motherRequest the honour of your presenceAt the Nuptial Mass celebrating the union ofBride&GroomSon of the late Mr. groom’s father

Ugh the paragraphs never show correctly on responses here.

Separate lines for my mother/father/his mother. Then separate lines for our names then his late father’s.
