Wedding invitations and rsvp’s

Andrea, on December 30, 2019 at 7:09 PM Posted in Planning 0 4
My fiancé really wants to do all our rsvp’ ing completely online. He wants to link the rehearsal dinner, wedding/reception, morning after brunch all to one site where people will accept or decline what events they are invited to (rehearsal is the only event not for everyone).
I am not computer savvy, I have no idea how all this is going to work and most importantly I never dreamed this is what he was thinking because I’ve never heard of it done like this. What does everyone think?

I looked at doing that for my wedding but ultimately decided against it because we didn’t have our rehearsal dinner invite list finalized when wedding invites went out.

We have our wedding website through Zola and you can set up different events with different guest lists for each. You can also select if the event is visible publicly on the website.
When someone RSVPs on the website they type in their name and are promoted to RSVP for all of the events that they’re invited to.

We are doing this for our events and it's not very difficult. I am using Minted and you upload your address book and then click or unclick for each event for each person. When they put in their name it will allow them a max number of people they can RSVP for and will give them the events they are invited to as well.

If you arent great with it, then perfect. Let him handle it. Although, its pretty telling if you dont understand it, then maybe elderly guests, or just anyone, will have problems as well? The one thing id keep in mind is If the date is approaching and some people that you think want to come have not RSVP'd, i would reach out to those specific people because maybe they struggled with it being online. Be sure to put your number on the invites because that way, theres multiple methods. Although, then people might do both and it would eliminate the whole point of the online rsvp... It really depends on how many people youre inviting and how that demographic will react to online rsvp

Ditto to the above. If you don't know how to do it and he wants this way, he needs to do it (I think both wedding wire and the knot have site planning/rsvps that let you build a guest list and link guests to the events they're invited to, in different way). I'm going to have online RSVP available, but my nana and his aren't great with computers, so I'll also have RSVP cards with the invites.
