I just got wedding insurance from Wedsafe.com for 185$ It was really easy. Our venue told us what we need coverage for and we filled in the rest!

I have insurance through USAA who I have car and renters insurance through. I second everything @MiniMe says about how good it is to have it!

I can't remember my limits right off (it's a little early for me) but I paid $250 dollars for event insurance and cancellation insurance through USAA.

In the states or at least where I looked you pay a different premium for the cancelation and event insurance but can get them all off the same site.

@sondra it's called special event insurance. If you call under renter or car insurance and ask about it they'll connect you. For me (small wedding no children,$90)

I did, and I'm glad I did. One of my best friends is getting married a week before me, and didn't. She had a minor freakout last week - her venue was closed for renovations with a rumor it was closing forever. She was scrambling trying to figure it all out, they would have lost the venue payment and all their vendors (most of her vendors allowed a change in location, but not in date, even if they were available)

We had to per the contract agreement with our venue, but it wasn't that bad. Paid $175 through WedSafe and I'm glad in a way we have it just in case. Smiley smile

Wedsafe. Our venue requires $2mm liability and $2mm liquor. I added cancellation insurance on top because their deductible was super reasonable and if someone backs out it will totally be worth it. I just need to be added as an additional insured on my bar vendors policy and insurance stuff is good to go!

We don't have it yet, but we are definitely getting it. It's required by our venue and it's a great idea even if it were not!

Well, as a reality check? We had three venues close down here last week, one with literally a day's notice (to be fair, they were a thriving, beautiful venue that was closed by the pier's landlord for reasons that had nothing to do with the owners). I had a very long week; three separate couples coming up and no where to go in prime season; thankfully they were all placed and their venue, which did NOT go bankrupt, refunded every dime and helped them find suitable places. The others?

They're screwed, just like most of the Alfred Angelo customers and anyone who booked at Rebar several years ago.

I'm not trying to freak you out, but all of these situations would be less economically and emotionally devastating if they were covered.

And it costs nothing, really, compared to the rest of this.

Honestly, as PPs have said, USAA is great, however, they are some of the highest, and don't recommend going with them, shop around before committing to them
