Wedding Food

Hi ladies! What are your favorite entrees and must haves at a wedding. I’m really trying to find the most affordable “formal” meal but I am strruugggling. I have a 132 people on my guests lists and I cannot cut it down anymore. I keep wanting to do a taco bar, pizza bar, or just bite size appetizers like sliders etc...but I’m also having a pretty formal set up for the reception. I’m driving myself insane lol. Send Help!

Mexican or Italian food catering can still be relatively "formal" but inexpensive

I definitely agree with Italian food. Cost effective and most people like Italian food.

    Don’t stress. You got this!

You can absolutely never go wrong with pasta.

You can adapt it for vegetarian or carnivore, gluten-free, etc., as well, which makes it a little easier (read cheaper) for the kitchen!

While I absolutely love tacos, they aren't very formal. Pasta is my absolute favorite food and most people like it so I don't think you could go from with pasta. Pasta is also generally a cheaper option.

If you want to keep the vibe formal, then I'd agree with PPs that Italian food is the way to go. Just make sure to also have some options for people who can't eat gluten. I also love tacos but that is more casual

Looks like Italian is the way to go! How many protein options would you guys do. Grilled chicken and some type of red meat? Or just a pasta assortment? With salad?

I would go with Italian if you are more formal. You can also do chicken and or pork for the proteins and save a ton!

I am serving bbq chicken and bbq pork roast to each guest and its only $3.76 a guest and they get both meats! My family is DIYing the side dishes so catering is only costing me $470

I think tacos can be formal depending on how they're plated. Anything you choose can work. The formality comes down to how the dish is plated! Presentation! Also, pasta isn't any more formal than tacos. Depending on where people live, they're just more used to formal settings with Italian food but that doesn't mean it's more formal.

Yes to the pasta! I would have totally done a pasta bar at my wedding if we were on a stricter budget and had more guest!
