Wedding favors

Mandy, on March 16, 2024 at 5:55 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 8
Hi everyone! August 2024 bride here! I’d like opinions on wedding favors. I feel like at weddings I’ve been to, so many favors get left behind. Or if they aren’t sentimental items, they end up in peoples junk drawer. We are having a large cookie table at our wedding and I ordered boxes and stickers to put in them that say “thank you for celebrating with us” anyways… what are your options on letting people pack up cookies and take them home as their favors? I feel like favors are so expensive these days and we are also trying to be cost friendly

We did cookies at ours and had a ton left over. If I had to do it again, I wouldn’t have bothered. But if you’re going to do them, something edible is definitely the way to go!

I agree with Andrea about edible favors! Those are always my favorite.

My first wedding, I did tiny boxes of chocolates from a local artisanal chocolate company.
    My sister did customized M&Ms.

For my current micro-wedding, I was considering skipping them completely (for the reasons you listed) but I'm doing decorative cookies. I know someone who makes beautiful cookies so I will be hiring her. Our total guest list count is small enough that it won't be a problem if we have leftovers, though. My family can eat them or I can give them to the people I want to invite but can't!

We’ve attended a number of weddings that had favors and others didn’t. Non edible favors get left behind, but in our experience, so do edibles. We attended one wedding where the bride’s parents did a candy table, everything was well known brands and wrapped, and they couldn’t give them away at the end of the night. That solidified for us to not give any and focus on the actual guest experience that they do remember and appreciate in the moment: good food, free drinks and great dj.

Don't bother with them, every wedding I've been at no-one takes them.

Edible favors are definitely the way to go. I was just at a wedding where they had take-out boxes for the desserts and we loved that.

Favors are neither necessary or traditional with the possible exception of a few specific groups. Most weddings I attend don’t feature them at all. I don’t consider food to be a favor as much as just part of the menu to go. But if you want to do cookies, go ahead.

We're doing scratch cards, although I think everyone will do them, if not, they'll get gathered up and we'll scratch them off when we get home haha.

I received so many recommendations on favors. But the best idea is mines: (tea cookies and tea bags). We're having a morning wedding and we are catering breakfast foods. So, the tea bags and cookies are just perfect.
