Wedding Favors

Hi Ladies,
Any ideas for favors, what did you give on your wedding day?
What should a bride spend for 100 guest?

Favors are totally optional! If they're not in the budget, it's fine to skip them. Otherwise, I recommend doing something edible (such as, chocolates or popcorn or smores) or something practical (such as, luggage tags or bottle openers or candles), or something that is local to the area you're getting married in. My fiance and I decided to do chocolate covered cherries, since the area we're getting married in is known for their cherries.

Honestly no one will miss them if you don't have any and they are the first thing to cut if you are on a budget. Otherwise go for something edible (an individual wrapped chocolate) and many times those get left behind. Save your money for something guests will actually notice (food, open bar, dj) or a better photo/video option for your own memories.

Favors are completely optional. We bought stemless wine glasses that we filled half way with M&M's in our wedding colors and topped with a cake pop that was individually wrapped. My mother-in-law made the cake pops with the help of my husband's sister and my brother-in-law's wife. She paid for all of the ingredients, the wrapping, and the bows to tie the wrapping closed. My husband is the one that purchased the glasses and M&M's, but I'm not sure what he spent on them.

We did gourmet butter mints. Bought in bulk, designed the tags myself (I have graphic design experience though), and tied them up in tulle and ribbon. I think the whole thing cost about $50. This was for 120 guests. Favors are optional, and I would only do them if they're edible. My cousin did personalized M&Ms last year and they were more expensive. I've seen some brides spend a few hundred on favors but we were able to keep costs down by DIY-ing them.

Skip 'em and save the money.

We did, no one noticed or complained.

We technically skipped favors, however, we are now giving each guest 2 hand sanitizers and 2 masks so I guess this counts,

Hi Jennifer! I had about 100 guests as well. We did two favors at each seat - one was a little white box of toffee candy in shape of a sailboat and a small white bag of peach colored salt water taffy (we had a coastal theme and colors were peach/white/sandy tan). It cost $400 approximately. I heard eatable favors are least likely to be left behind. If you have a theme, you can get chocolates or candies to go with it. Hope this helps!!!

My husband and I did a dessert bar at our wedding and we had ToGo" boxes put out towards the end of our reception so our guests could take some of their favorite treats home/back to the hotel for a late night snack. I wanted to do something that everyone would use and/or wouldn't throw away. My sister-in-law and I love baking so we made the dessert bar items ourselves. We had brownies, chocolate covered pretzels (that were our wedding colors), other candies we bought from the store, chocolate chip cookies and other things. We were able to do it for crazy cheap and just about everything went!

I did kisses in little baggies. I think the kids ate a bunch of them and we still took a bunch home. I also have never taken a favor from a wedding.
    So I say skip them.

Favors aren’t necessary. But if you want to give out favors, choose something edible or they’ll get left behind: cookie, cake pop, chocolate truffle, etc.

I agree! For my favors, I'm just giving a s'mores kit for my guests to take home. Something that they can use/eat. I try to stay away from tacky items that people will just trash when they get home.

Favors aren't necessary, but you can either do something edible, or something you know your guests will use.

We're having drink koozies with our names and wedding details on one side, with a outline picture of our dog on the other side. Those are being ordered through etsy! We're also having a table with 'doggie treat bags' for our guests to take home treats to their furbabies as a 'thank you' from our dog!

I agree! When I was thinking about my favors, immediately I wanted to do something with food. I've seen many times people have candles or glassware with their wedding date on it and people wither don't take it or trash it when they get home. Such a waste of money!

That's a great idea! I always like food ideas more than unnecessary items.
