The first time I went dress shopping, I took a couple of friends and went to 2 or 3 different shops. I determined what neckline and silhouette I wanted fairly quickly. I ended up putting a deposit down on a glittery lace gown which I ended up turning into store credit when that wedding got cancelled (seriously, best decision I have ever made).

This time, it was different. Knowing what silhouette and neckline I wanted, I was pretty set on getting exactly what I wanted or getting nothing. I looked online and fell in love with the dress I ended up getting but I knew my MoH/FSIL/BFF would want to go dress shopping. I held off buying it and went into David's Bridal. They didn't have what I was looking for and I refused to compromise but we ended up using that appointment to get the bridesmaids dresses squared away. I ordered my dress online the next week.

I knew in my head what styles I wanted to stay away from. For instance, I am short, so I didnt want a dress that was so big and poofy or that would over power me. I knew I wanted something fitted and that would make me look and feel curvy and confident. Then I started looking online for ideas and then ultimately starting going to bridal fittings.

I just started looking up styles online. i had a general idea of what i wanted but there are so many options. I would just go to a local bridal shoppe and try some stuff on! you never know what you might fall in love with.

Looking on Pinterest first lol and then researching the designers I like. I also read all the articles in the world about silhouettes, fabrics and just important things to know before dress shopping.

I watched a ton of "Say Yes to the Dress" and "Four Weddings" but the funny thing is I hated mermaid dresses but then tried one on and ended up loving it! Oh and I also had my FH watching it too. LOL!

I browsed online a bit and then made an appointment. I actually didn't like the dress I picked when I saw it online. Didn't realize it was a dress I had seen online since in the store the one on the rack was silver so I tried on the ivory version lol. The dress that I really loved online looked horrible on me since I'm so short. So looking online isn't exactly always helpful lol. Best to just go and try on a few different styles cause you never know what will look great and you will just love out of no where.

LOL. I love Say Yes to the Dress, especially the Atlanta ones - Monte and Lori are amazing! If I could afford to go shop there, I would in a heartbeat! My FH's little secret is that he's as fascinated as I am with the show - but he'd never admit it!
