Wedding dress - when/where to look

I went with David’s Bridal and found my dress for under $500! They have a wide selection of sizes.

I would recommend you start looking now. They say 10 months out is best. Our date is April 2020, I just found my dress last month and it will be in January 2020.

The dress I used for my white welcome party was from Nordstrom and it could be use as a wedding dress. It had a little train and everything. They have a good selection of dresses that can be use as a wedding dress. Mine was around $300.

David’s bridal has a ton from $100 and up! Also look at bridal consignment, bigger stores.. even online like amazon !

Also - don’t stress too much about your weight, you are going to be a gorgeous bride! Try on some dresses.. be confident and motivated ! You don’t need to have your dress altered right away so you’ll have time !

Congratulations! I got engaged 3/31/19 and our wedding is 10/13/19. I bought my dress around July from David’s Bridal (surprisingly - last dress I tried on at the very last place I shopped). I spent about $750 total with tax and the dress is being altered as I type...it’s scheduled to be ready in two weeks. I did two fittings.
I type all of that to say don’t let people shame you into thinking you’re not on top of things or make you think you have to spend thousands of dollars on a wedding dress you’ll wear on one day for a few hours. Just start looking at styles you like and think about what styles you look fabulous in! I would try to purchase something no later than February.

Don’t worry about losing weight first - one less thing to stress over. Fittings scheduled close to your wedding date account for your weight loss! Just remember that you’re a bride and you’ll be gorgeous simply because your happiness will shine through! Good luck and congrats again!
